Yurin and MyoshuFollow

Could not think of more useless Ichi spells if I tried. Oh well, maybe the elemental damage spells will do good damage.

Useful, but limited to mostly mobs you don't want to feed TP too. Not a total fail, but rather disappointing nevertheless.

Well you'd definitely want to use both in conjunction with each other, both will limit the TP gain of the mob and if you have subtle blow capped out then that could be cut down significantly. Like I said, not a total fail, but I think most Ninjas were hoping for something more useful (i.e., something you'd be gimp without).

Yurin does sound legitimately useful. Penance on MNK is a great merit ability/trait, and giving NIN something similar (pending discovery of duration/strength of effect) is a plus. It's not going to revolutionize the job, but it certainly sounds like a useful tool for dangerous fights.

Myoshu is a bit more of a head-scratcher...

I can only see this as being useful if it stacks with subtle blow or works for the whole party, because right now subtle caps @ 50 which isn't that hard to get w/ gear and merits.

Awesome, more spells I won't be carrying tools around for...

It's so nice of S-E to give us a spell version of subtle blow. I mean, my Dnc gains twice as much Subtle Blow (+10) on one dagger than my Nin did for 15 merit points. /sarcasm

First update boosts our casting ability then they dish out spells that are centred around meleeing. Once again, S-E shows they really have no idea what this job is about.

They need to make some badass new spells if they expect people to carry around even more tools to use them. I'm pretty sure these ain't gonna cut it. I would never expect anyone to both have these spells AND to have the tools on them, so for all intents and purposes, these spells don't even exist for me and I would never plan a strategy around their use.

I think what they should have done is altered the old ninja tools so that they could be used with these new spells as well, instead of making new tools -- but that probably isn't happening now.

What they should do is release 3 types of new Tools made with Synergy.
One that can be used with any elemental ninjutsu.
One that can be used for debuff ninjutsu.
One that can be used for buff ninjutsu (invisible, sneak, myoshu etc)

These should be Synergy recipes and require the original tools + something else to craft.
Like for example the "elemental" one, should require 1 of each of the 6 elemental tools.

That way we wouldn't kill the current economy of craftable tools, but at the same time Ninjas would be able to use all of their spells by having only 3 inventory slots occupied.
Sounds really like the perfect solution to me, wonder if they'll ever do it...

I am not a Ninja by any stretch of the imagination but i have one in my lowman Abyssea group which consists of six people.
From what i can tell you, Yurin: Ichi is actually very good for NM's with devastating TP attacks. It's slight but you can notice the fewer WS's from the target and when you're fighting something like Minax Bugard and Flame Skimmer which have pretty unpleasant WS's.

I've noticed that TP feed on Abyssea NM is more of a problem than the NM itself usually is, so much that i've had to have DD's stay back from the mob at regular intervals when doing a run with my LS. I think Yurin and Myoshu were designed with lowman NM fighting in mind. I still have one of our members of the lowman group come Ninja pretty much all the time.

I would not write these spells off, they have a use, just not one most people would notice at first glance.

I like these spells a lot, animation for them is cool looking and they actually work and dont get resisted to much. Dont see what use Myoshu has in parties buy yurin is great. Spamming the ninjistu san line of spells while soloing has been great cause you can go 80% of most fights and only see one tp move. This has been the case with toneberries in abyssea cause my nin cant hit them to save his life. with tonics san spells hit for 200+

Personally though im begining to hate ninjistu the amount of tools is just rediculous. Hope we dont get anything new.

I agree with Max, so much that I went back in time and pre-agreed with him 8 posts up!

You really don't carry all the elemental tools unless you have all the :San nukes unlocked; which in my opinion is stupid, having two San nukes maxed out for the +20Macc/MAB better than having 6 weak inaccurate spells.
so you really only carry 2~3 elemental nukes tools, i love what each tool stands for and you don't have to carry everything anyway.

Did you mean NIN's elementals? I may get 6/6. Currently 5/5 in tool expertise and just never got the Sans. If I ever needed to nuke I just spammed the Ni's. I plan on getting the 2 INT/MAB katanas as well, mainly just because I love NIN, not because I think they'd be needed in any form. Its nice to have a good INT/Relic set when its needed, but its rarely needed. The only time I can think I've nuked since hitting level 55 before level sync, was in Limbus on the magic only gigas. I can see it being useful perhaps for kiting damage in abyssea though.

Its nice to nuke yes, but I think NIN physical DD is fine, people just need to get out there and work on upgrading your gear. NIN isn't like SAM and can just focus on WSC mods, gearing up easily with basic AH gear.

Empyrean gear increasing Crit, capping our haste, and adding dual wield are all helping our damage possibilities out. Recent abyssea party the only DD that did higher WS numbers than me was a RNG [low Jin 784, high Jin 1867, my avg over 2 hours was 1.1k. -- He did a couple 1.9k's] This was also using no Atma. If you add in all the amazing Atmas that have crit%, dex, dbl atk, str, and the fact that's its pretty easy to cap ACC even on NIN makes for formidable DD. Compare this with another 85NIN the other day, when I was on 81WAR, in full Aurore, using Senji/Fudo, and no food, a melee acc% of 67% who was averaging 380~ on his Jins with a high of 760, who proclaimed "Wow 700 jin! That's awesome!" while everyone else in the party went "Yea nice!" Then I pull out a 1600 RR [even using a gimp weapon like Perdu.] I really wanted to facepalm.

I've got about 465 ACC on WS, and 438 during TP [with AF body.] Depending on the mobs I'm facing in abyssea, I don't need pizza, and meat is completely viable; even more so with a few gear tweaks. NIN at 90 w/ agressor will be even more accurate. Don't forget about Innin for any EXP as well, even if you are the first voker. ACC is no longer an issue for almost any job in Abyssea, and especially in older content.

Tobi+1 [I'm working on Kannagi, but it may take me 6 months to get the final upgrade Items] and Blade: Hi are even more of a reason to continue to play your favorite job. Yes the weapon is a little work, yes it may take a couple months, but if you love NIN its worth it. The empyrean is one of the longer ones [Briareus takes a lot of key items ><] but oh well. I like NIN so NIN is what I play.
