Brawny Adargas are easily the best non-Magian hand-to-hand weapons for Monk. I don't know where they stand in comparison to Magian h2h, but they're easily the best that you can purchase off the Auction House.

Once you get to 99, Empy85+/Relic/Mythic (as if anyone has Mythic H2H) > Fire Path magian > Brawny Adargas are your legitimate lv99 choices. There's a nice Legion H2H (Girru), but Legion gear isn't exactly realistic for most either [EDIT: Vanadiel Census 2012 had the total number of players who have obtained Girru as... Zero]. Don't bother with the other magian trial weapons, your time would be better spent working on Empy/Relic/Fire path H2H than the other stuff like the WOE Victory Smite H2H or the Occasionally Attacks "x" weapons.

Stuff that beats Destroyers on your way to 99 choices:

* Taurine Cesti (lv.89, drop from Indrik) was the best non-trial weapon at 90 cap and are a fine placeholder all the way to the lv99 options.

* AH stuff, roughly in order of quality, includes: Metasoma Katars (lv.88), Marath/Shivaji Baghnaks (lv.97), Grotesque Cesti (lv.92), Eyra Baghnaks (lv.87)

* Augmented Savate Fists (lv.77, free with Dominion Notes, or from gold boxes in Abyssea-Uleguerand) are a step up from Destroyers, and if you get crappy augments you can NPC them for gil. DMG/Crit rate augments are what you're after.

* Other Abyssea R/E drops that aren't exactly good but are still better than Destroyers include Furor Cesti and Heofon Knuckles. I dunno that Afflictors would even beat Destroyers. I wouldn't make any effort at all to get any of these though, only use them if you just happen to get the drop anyway and you're using them as a placeholder.

Very much so. Chloris is a huge pain in the ass though, which is the reason I'm still Relic/Empy-less myself - I just detest farming up pop sets. I'll probably end up with Spharai instead, actually (for some reason the particular type of mind numbing tedium in Dyna is less offensive to me).

Spharai/Vereth is the subject of some debate, but both are obviously top end stuff. Victory Smite is king in Abyssea, but obviously not everything is Abyssea.
