Seems to me like hands and feet are the winners here. Feet is an uppgrade at least for macro and maybe for tanking if the counter dmg is good enough. Hands seems good if we one day dont need the h2h skill?

Temple Cyclas is Chakra I, Melee Gloves are Chakra II. Since we'll be giving up Melee Gloves for the +2, I'm assuming it will boost the VIT multiplier and remove an additional status debuff. Hell, if they're able remove Plague instead of just Disease, I'll call it a win.

Head: A good piece for Ascetic's Fury, but a little behind options for Victory Smite. No haste means no real value for TP build.

Body: Could be somewhat useful as a defensive piece (when you explicitly want defense without offense), since all the stats on it help in that regard. Only 'nice', though, not 'amazing'.

Hands: Very nice TP piece. Has more accuracy than AF3+2 gloves, along with significantly more attack. Lots of combinations of hand/head/neck/ear depending on accuracy needs, haste, set bonus, etc, but overall these gloves have the easiest time of straight replacing their corresponding AF3+2 piece. The higher attack generally outweighs the base damage on AF3 gloves, but the haste on the gloves allows for different head combinations that can end up making it all a wash.

Also looking forward to Enhanced Chakra 3; hoping it cures slow.

Legs: I can't see any value in these other than as part of an overall +HP set. +KA is the same as on AF3+2 legs, and the other stats are of minimal value.

Feet: Better enhanced Counterstance is always welcome. Counter dmg up is likely the same as Ultion Mantle and AF3+1 head (ie: +10 base damage on counters); expect that the +3 feet will be +20 base damage like the AF3+2 head. Regardless, another decent macro piece for Perfect Counter.


Overall priority:

Hands - highest
Feet - high
Body - low
Legs, Head - meh

Changes from OP:

All "II"/"III" markers on JA enhancements have been removed.

Most notable change is dropping from +21 att to +18 att on the gloves (+18 is what the +1 gloves have). I still want them for the (presumed) improvement to Chakra, but they've downgraded slightly from being an easy replacement for AF3+2 gloves to being a sidegrade (unless you need the acc, in which case they're still a good option).

A little new perspective now that we know about Shijin Spiral and the Denali enhancements...

Feet: I'd easily put these highest. They look like an amazing tanking piece, and if not tanking can always use Tantra+2 for pure DD. Also good for either VS or Shijin Spiral with STR/DEX - remember that Shijin Spiral is purely DEX mod if that WS turns out to be worthwhile (though Denali +5 would trump them with DEX+10/Atk+16/DA+3%). Probably worth trading 1 STR for 7 DEX for Ascetic's as well. Plus, Counterstance macro.

Hands: Like you said after the adjusted stats, a sidegrade to Empyrean for TP unless you really need the Acc. Caveat that the eventual +3 version seems like it should pull ahead easily, so probably worth the upgrade just to get a start on that.

Legs: Again, DEX as a Shijin Spiral mod could influence the decision here and make a good piece for that WS if you don't have Usukane legs.

Body, Head: meh indeed

If it truly is hundreds of ancient currency for each upgrade, I suspect that I'll be prioritizing other jobs' +2 pieces (e.g. Koga body/hands) over Melee set. Will still try to get feet right away, and hands fairly soon (I'm helped by already having the +1 hands), the rest are lower on my list.

Also, worth considering that capped haste builds may change a bit, freeing up some other gear. See, for example, the amazing Denali +5 body with Haste+4%, DA/TA/QA +3% each, and Acc+12. Doesn't really change much of the analysis here though.

Otherwise, yes, good point on the feet now being a pretty good choice for Shijin, pushing them up in value.

As for the modified Denali set, the crazy rearrangement of all the stats on all the Nyzul pieces has me holding back on any speculation until there's a better idea of how they're obtained and the effects of the upgrade path.

Doh. Yeah, how could I forget about kitty pants. I guess that puts Melee +2 Legs, Body, and Head into the "I don't really care" tier.

I'm interested to see what happens with the +3 stuff though. Might end up wanting those pieces anyway just for the eventual merit ability enhancing stats.

My prediction in regards to merit ability enhancements:

Prediction A: More likely
Head+3: Enhances penance
Body+3: Enhances lolmantra
Hands+3: enhances invigorate
Legs+3: enhances formless strikes
Feet+3: n/a

Prediction B: Less Likely
Head+3: Enhances Penance
Body+3: Enhances Invigorate
Hands+3: Enhances Formless Strikes
Legs+3: Enhances lolmantra
Feet+3:

Ideally, Invigorate on the hands, penance on anything but the feet, and I'm happy.

AF2+2 doesn't cure slow or silence :(

Hands+3: enhances invigorate <-- correct. (well, these are augmented +2, not +3)

Melee Hose +2 Enhances Hundred Fists increases duration from 45secs to 60secs.

Melee Gaiters +2 Enhances Mantra effect increases HP% increase from 4%/merit to 6%/merit. Went from 12% @ 3 merits to 18%, and 20% @ 5merits to 30%. Increases Counter attack adds 10dmg to counters. Didn't notice an increase to Counterstance's counter rate, appears to be the same.


For relic that has an effect 'per merit', it means that the bonus effect increases the more merits you have in that category. Invigorate, for example, gives +2 HP/tick at 1 merit, up to +10 HP/tick at 5 merits when used with these gloves.

Also not mentioned, but Enhance Chakra III cures plague (the one that causes TP loss).

Head: Enhance Penance (Good augment)
Body: Enhance Formless (Meh augment)
Hands: Enhance Invigorate (Good augment, which pairs very well with the base stats as a Chakra macro piece)
Legs: Enhance Hundred Fists (Good augment, duration +15 seconds)
Feet: Enhance Mantra (LOLtrash)

Overall
Hands are the big winner with a useful base piece AND augment. Very much like S-E to pair **** augments with good base pieces (feet), and good augments with **** base pieces (head, legs). Body is pretty much **** all around.

Hmm, I have been considering dropping my 1 formless strike merit to get ingivorate up to 5/5. If/when I get the hands upgraded will be the final nail in the coffin for it.
