Swapping Seals and KS99Follow

I'm guessing I am one of many monks that is excited about the prospect of turning in mountains of other seals for Kindred Seals and a chance at a Black Belt. Doing some preliminary research, I haven't found any strategies for any of the 3 KSNMs that take into account the 90 level cap. Has anyone here done one since the 90 cap? Any advice? Is there a site or blog hiding away somewhere off the beaten path that has the information?

I'm sure I am not the only one who would be interested.

I threw a few orbs at the turtle @85 cap, we did with 6 I think. BLM BLM RDM SAM PLD... one other not sure what. It still wasn't really easy but we didn't lose. Lots of regen, mages pumping into him when he in shell, pretty much the same battle plan as it use to be. Soon we will try again, I have not done any ks99 since they changed kings to pop critters. Sorry this isn't much help, good luck!

A few of us thought we could bash the turtle without any real plan at 90. No sam, I think one or two mage never got it below 95%.
So yeah same strat as before spike damage spike damage spike damage.
No idea on the others though I do hope to find out soon myself.

Just tried this fight for the first time. We had SAM, WHM, RDM, BLMx3, THF, NIN.
We never got it below 89%

What is this strategy? Melee him when he's OUT of shell... then darkness SC and ice nuke him when he's IN his shell?

I thought that's what we were doing but it didn't seem to work very well. But I think some of the BLMs were a lil nuke happy and were nuking him when he was out of his shell.

Anyway, can someone be a little bit more specific on the strategy? And is this even possible to do with less than an army of BLMs?

The problem is it took a massive amount of timed blm nukes to bring him out of his shell before to much regen happend. Blm dmg hasn't increased dramatically outside of abyssea and neither has their mp pools. Even though due to level difference your not going to lose to him easily, your still not going to beat him without the nuking dmg.

The other 2 KS99's arn't a problem for a party of 6 or so, but the turtle isn't going to go down with 6 simply due to his regen. The egg was always the hardest to get unless you got lucky on an NQ drop you'd been farming for a while. Looks like its got even harder.

actually, the turtle can be pretty easy, pld, sam, rdm, blm, blm, blm, and 2? whms? (or was it 2 rdms, and 1 whm?)


buffs carry inside, i was sam, gave the pld some tp before entering, we would coordinate dark sc's, if necessary i would/could do a solo, about 10m~ was all that was needed, i think it was ageha > chant? and age > gekko?


one of the biggest problems, is that you can OVERnuke, and actually push him back into the shell and thats when the regen fun can happen. toss another nuke to knock him back out, two if necessary etc, and get enough tp for the next sc and turn.
