After about 2 months straight camping the items I managed to get wyrm beard this morning, June 24, 2008.

Having 3/3 black belt and your brown belt quest still open should be against the law.

Necro'd because after over four years of trying, I finally got a Wyrm Beard! That's 1/3, at least... ; ;

This brings me up to like 1/3 on Early Bird Catches the Wyrm, but I'm still a dismal 0/13 on Horns of War. But someday soon, I'll have another 99 KS!
Been a first job monk since... well... forever. I don't even have another 75 job yet, but prices on my server are a bit discouraging to buy the items outright. (3,000,000 per item) So, KS99 only, it seems. =)

i spent a long time camping egg, and a long time farming KS (and watching people outlot me on beard in KS99) before buying the egg and the beard (got tongue in KS99).

after i got BB from buying, i had a themis orb left over. that themis orb could represent a 2m loss, considering i could perhaps have held out and used it to get beard. or, say a 1.7m loss considering 300k is probably about the average your orb your drop haul of KS99 wyrm.

but, got my BB, so the themis orb stayed in storage for months. that is, until recently when i took it to a your orb your drop KS99 wyrm, and got speed belt. the 4m-5m i spent on BB items doesn't feel like a waste anymore.

well lastnigh turtle KS99 run it became official, I HAS ME BB!!!!! no egg on my orb 2 friends went next. 1st run no 2nd run im falling asleep in my chair with headset on vent and i here them screaming my name. lol

thanks to my ls FromtheAshes and a big shout out to Ashtopcat tellin me not to go to bed before his run. ^^

Had 2 items from being in an HNM for awhile before I quit for a year.

So earlier last week, I started camping morbolger. (I had hit him after maintenance a few times years ago, but never got claim). Camped him, left my character on all night. 18 hours with no pop, and finally had something to go do.

came back 3 hours later, he was up, unclaimed. yay, 4 years later finally finish brown belt quest.

An egg away from black belt now, I just started hitting VoS each night. 3rd night, people were prepping for HQ pop. Had to log before it popped. 2nd night, had to log before it popped. Friday night, farmed as late as I could keep my eyes open, no pop, went to sleep, woke up 5 hours later he was up unclaimed. (nq). Found one friend online. He came bard, links killed us. He went and switched to smn, still nobody around but a drk looking for ToD. Going fine, 15%, smn d/c's, links kill me. 3rd time around, by now a couple others log in, head out, drk was getting sick of us dying, so has a party on the way to kill, offers help.

Kill, egg, holy sh*t black belt...

b.kotes, brown belt, black belt in an 8-day span, with nothing but a tiny social LS, a close group of friends, and a hell of a lot of luck.

Just got mine now. Got Beard and Tongue from KS99. Bought the egg today.

After nearly 3 years of being a 75 Monk, Black Belt obtained Dec. 02, 2008 :D

w0000t. Got mine on 12/13/08. Beard from ks99, paid 3m for egg (ouch) and 2m for toungue. Was worth every gil imo. Now for Usu feet and faith torque and im set ^^. Been wanting to post in this thread fooooorever lol. Happy hunting fellow monks.

Finally got mine after 4 years of monkeying around. Dec 17 2008. Camped adamantoise for 3 days straight, claimed twice with no competition, no drop. Aspid pop on Dec 17 morning and no LS even know the tod to camp him. Hikari gathered what sleepy heads it had in early morning and killed him. T-T /bow

btw, Maat's teacher is such a cranky mnk, no wonder the guy likes to bully adventurers.

Enough people have commented to me about that cutscene that I want to see it for myself now.
