So I am looking at the possibility of getting a Twashtar but it might be out of reach for me.
So my fall back plan is a Kila +2. I just dont know which is best. 2 Fire Kila+2 or 1 fire and 1 wind Kila +2. The advice would be appriciated.

If you can only make one go for fire x2 IMO. I never use my wind almost at all.

Not that acquiring the drops for making them is getting any more feasible as time marches on, but how do the OAT, OA2-4, and Double Attack daggers stack up against the fire element path and r/ex vw loot?
There are two kinds of people in FFXI, those doing the laughing and those who don't know what's funny.
Any of the OA_ weapons you want to steer clear of for two reasons: 1) They don't stack with DA and TA and 2) They don't stack with WSs. On a side note, especially with the 2-4, you're feeding the mob more TP for mediocre damage. I made the mistake of making one a long time ago thinking that they were going to make it a kraken dagger, but was obviously disappointed. Only time I've ever used it was when I hit 99 to quickly recap my dagger skill. It probably won't see the light of day ever again.
As for the DA dagger its almost along the same lines. I would recommend it more for DNC than THF because DA and TA don't stack and as you know, THF is more TA heavy. I'm not sure how the DA would stack up against say a Thockha since you're trading 11 DA and 1 base damage for 21 delay...
