Count Raum - Assassin's ArmletsFollow

I'm looking for a little advise regarding obtaining my Assassin's Armlets. I've farmed Dyna-Xarc now a bit more then a dozen times now for my Armlet's and have gotten 19 out of the 20 armor drops for this zone leaving; Everything except of course what I need. :P So I have a couple of questions.

1. I've operated under the assumption that staggering the mob only affects currency drop rates, and that TH is the only thing that affects Relic Armor drops rates. Is this correct?
2. Where does Count Raum spawn and what are his place holders?
3. Does Staggering a NM affect Relic Armor Drop rates?
4. How often does Count Raum Respawn?

Thanks in advance for the help :)

1) Yes. Currency is the only thing affected by staggering a mob.

2) If you go north of where the outpost NPCs are and follow that wall to a short ways before the spine (you'll have a small broken piece of wall to your left, and should be around H-8), that's an optimal place to farm Raum. He will spawn in the area on the other side of that wall, be it right behind the wall or all the way up on the hill to the west. His place holder is a single Kindred Thief that also spawns in that area.

3) From my experience, it doesn't.

4) If you actively kill the PH, roughly 30 minutes, though it's possible that it's less.

What Vlor said. Behold this magnificent MS Paint map I have maded!

Screenshot

Camp at the blue dot and Raum spawns in the purple area. If it's any consolation, the droprate on the hands is very, very high from him now, in my experience anyway.

From my experience it's not really any higher than it was before, just that since you can fight him frequently, you have a much higher chance of seeing them drop, thus making it feel that they drop more often.

Hey I don't know if it's my dumb luck but I got mines off the PLD demons near I-7/I-8 farming with my back against the wall, not sure if location is correct it's got the WHM demons near them too. I was on BST95 with Dipper. I did however farm the zone +10x, I don't think it's a matter of killing a NM or not maybe it's a higher chance idk. So um I say just keep killing to you see a drop, and try killing the PLDs like I did they are a much easier kill at that. GL!

As far as normal mobs it doesn't matter which ones you kill, since each normal mob has the capability of dropping them. It's just that with such a large pool of possible relic pieces that it could drop (the Assassin's Armlets share the same slot in the treasure pool as the other fourteen pre-ToaU jobs), if a normal mob decides to drop one of the pre-ToaU job armor pieces, you're only looking at a roughly 6.7% chance of it being Thf.

For all of the normal NMs in Dyna - Xarc, the only pre-ToaU relic piece they can drop is for their respective job (i.e. Count Raum, being a Thf, can only drop Assassin's Armlets), so even if the actual rate of an armor piece dropping from that initial pool were the same between a normal mob and an NM, the chance of it being Assassin's Armlets would be 100% off Raum vs. 6.7% off a normal mob.

Maybe it's just base TH6 nowadays (although some people argue anything above TH2 is placebo) but I've personally gone 10/14 on Armlets from Raum alone since the Dyna revamp and 1/30++ from Raum in OlDynamis over the years. Probably just my luck, as I suffered through horrible old drop-rates on them and once I got them they drop like candy, as usual Smiley: lol.

Thanks for the advise guys! Got my Assassin's Armlets Monday night! (actually had 2 of them drop... /facepalm). Was kinda sad, after farming for weeks and weeks, the hands dropped on our third kill in the zone... :P

A piece of advise I'd suggest for people who are farming the zones for armor, is to keep the armor drop from that zone in your inventory, to prevent drops from mobs that you don't want. If everyone in the party has the Rare/Ex armor in their inventory somewhere, it will keep it dropping to the treasure pool. From my experience it won't actually increase the drop rate of the Relic Armor that you do not have, but it will keep you from needing to continually pass/drop duplicates/triplicates of everything else, or from needing to remember if you actually did store a specific piece of armor on the Porter Moogle. I threw all of the armor in my moghouse storage and it made managing the drops much easier.

Thank you for this thread! We had gone into Xarc a couple of times since the update and just farmed at the entrance, seeing very few relic drops. We went in 2 nights ago, got our TE, then camped on the stairs by H-8/9. 3 pairs of armlets (2 from Raum and 1 from a kindred monk) dropped while we were there. We also moved over the the rdm nm and killed that for my hat! <3 the new dynamis!!
