Hey all,
I'm a red mage main, and have only recently started putzing around on my thief inside abyssea.
My ninja is a support job only, as I don't have any fondness for the job myself, and my ninjitsu skill is, sadly, terribly gimped.
It's not that I'm unwilling to go and ungimp it, but the only reason to do so would be to proc grellow, and I was wondering:
Is any form of magic accuracy / ninjitsu skill required to proc grellow with ninjitsu?
I'm guessing "no" for the elemental ones, but possibly so for Kurayami?

Magic accuracy for ninjitsu?Follow
Nothing is needed for proccing elemental ninjutsu. However, landing Kurayami will require either extreme luck, magic accuracy atmas, or entirely too many assorted pieces of Ninjutsu skill gear and Macc gear which i'm not willing to lug around. I pretty much resign myself to the fact that if it's Kurayami and a /Nin needs to proc, it's probably not happening. Sometimes you can spam it and hope, and occasionally you'll get a stick.
You can try whipping out a pluto's staff and using an ascetics potion (and or swapping to magic acc atmas, but that's inconvenient). magic acc may still be floored on a lot of things anyway.

i have been looking at the magic acc kila's for kurayami myself, doing another trial weapon is not a problem for me, it's a nice way to wait on stone recharge and to do stuff while waiting for my team to get online. i wouldn't even consider doing this if it wasn't for the fact i almost have a perfect ws set and tp gear. so trying to find ways to improve my character even for specialized situations like this. i may pick up some macc gear after i finish those trials just to help land the spell.

Pluto's Staff is just as good for a lot less effort (in fact, it's slightly better because you could use something like a Dark Grip along with it)
It's still gonna be a crapshoot on most things no matter what you do, though.
