I didn't want to put this in the other thread about TH. I was out duoing Gieremund with a DNC on Sunday and I noticed an odd thing and I was wondering if others had experienced it. First, I am only level 86, so I only have TH2 base trait, and the only TH gear I have is TK. I was full timing it because my Kilas are still crappy and stuff and it was frankly just easier.

While we were fighting, I noticed TH procing up over and over again, eventually before Gieremund died, TH had proc'ed all the way up to TH 7. Has anyone else been noticing this. I was under the impression that with TH2 + 1 TH item the most I would be able to proc a mob would be 3 initially and at most up to 4.

The Highest TH effect I have read was a 9 against wall in Wall T1 Assault. Just forgot who report that one (and where).

And for how it work, I'll quote Melphina who summarize the thing too well.
Base 6 = THF90 so with TH3 and +3 TH gear (Knife, Armlets and Feet)

Yeah, I am aware of that. The oddity for me is my base TH is 3 (TH II + 1 TH item), and yet I still achieved TH 7 throughout the course of the fight. Which means I had 4 up procs of TH on the mob before it died.

Random is random, and as you stated yourself your weapons are weak. Geriemund has a lot of hp and so long as the mobs TH does not exceed level 9 you can continue to get more procs. SA and TA each have a much higher chance of causing a proc than regular melee, but I've gotten a TH proc with my first sa, and a proc with melee soon after followed by a 3rd proc with another crit later. That took my Th level straight to level 8 and it happened within the first 2 minutes of a Carbarossa fight. That you could get 4 procs within the time it takes to kill geriemund is not hard to believe at all, it's just how random numbers work.

That was probably me. And I actually got all the way up to 11 on a subsequent test. I don't believe there's an actual cap.

Ok, well that is cool, I had never seen any information on more than just 1 or 2 additional procs on it. Wonder if we had fights that lasted hours like we used to before zergs and stuff how high TH could actually go... lol

I have personally gotten up to 10 before and that is at lv 90+TK+AAs (5 base). Who knows how high it can go.

To make this list more complete, need to add:

Scenario 6:
A thief hits a mob with TH gear on. Mob's TH level is 6
The thief removes the TH gear. Hits the mob. TH level remains 6.
The thief gets a TH proc. Mob's TH level is now 7.

Correct?

Correct. You can think of it more like dancer steps (except they dont wear off and you can 'start' with more than lv 1). You attack it and it will 'stick' the higest lv TH you have equiped. After that ANY thf can randomly +1 it even if they dont have the same TH level. If I engage at lv 90 (T3) and do anything (/ra, steal/mug/smack it etc) then T3 will be stuck. The next proc will be 4.

I can also (instead) equip TK/AA/Boots and start with TH6 and /ra it or mug it (ie get hat on a mob but not actually proc a +TH message). I can then remove ALL TH gear for the rest of the fight. The next TH proc will be 7 from ANY thf no matter their TH level. Just like any dnc can proc up a step on top of any other.

Would be nice to see some numbers from someone with TH8 base. TK's, AA's, Feet+2, TH+1 belt from La Theine, TH+ Atma & THIII.
