I'm camping a NM as 90 MNK. My TH2 just doesn't seem to cut it. I tend to camp fairly late because of work. I'm wondering what would happen if my friend were to leave her THF in my party. If I Trick Attack her, I'm putting her on the emnity list. Wouldn't this trigger the TH4 (or 5. She might be 90 by now)?

Nope.

As he said, nope. A clever question I've seen before, but there are actually 2 conjunctive conditions to activate TH. Producing enmity on the mob, and also having specifically performed an action on the mob.

That action must come from the PC themselves; not by someone TAing them.

It wouldn't be too hard to test. Have a lower level thf trick a level 90 one, both without any th+ gear, and then see whether the first increase in TH goes to 3 or 4. It's possible that just getting onto the enmity list could apply TH, but I suspect it's only done when you do damage to it.

As you suspect, won't work. SE stated it at fanfest, that it isn't sufficient simply to be on the enmity/hate list. Good test idea though.

Not quite technically true. The general rule you can apply is, would the action claim a mob to me? If a mob is yellow waltzing around, anything you could do that would claim it and make it start attacking you works. Mug. Steal. Melee attack. Ranged attack. Casting Spells. Voke. Whatever. Doesnt have to actually be damage.

Trick attacking a yellow mob onto someone else will claim it red, but only red on YOU. It may beat up the other guy, but if you disengaged, it would go back to yellow because they TA buddy never actually claimed it. Think of it more like how people used to Bind a mob and it would attack the nearest person, even people with no hate (was an MPK tool :P) Those guys dont claim the mob and therefore dont stick TH on it even if they are getting attacked.
