Since the advent of the level cap raise, abyssea onry activities, and of course the almighty atmas have been implemented I'm a bit curious as to how these things have affected our gear usage and if any of you have made any major changes to your gearsets between 75 and now. For example, I know that capping accuracy first was a huge deal in our TP setups then adding in as much haste, attack, and maybe some STP thrown in to optimize, but have the priorities been changed that much between then and now? (mostly asking about acc, I already know that moar haste = better)

I only ask because I really haven't been able to use my THF that much in abyssea (and non existant use elsewhere) other than the obligatory pulling in parties and TH ***** for the LS. In saying that, I still want to try and optimize my sets just in case the opportunity arises. I'm sure I could just parse myself and adjust my gear accordingly...but as I said, the opportunity to do so hasn't presented itself yet.

So, big or small, what changes have you all made?

Priority in how to gear at lvl 85:

1. Atma's (some good ones are: Atma of the Razed Ruins, Atma of the Sanguine Scythe, Atma of the Voracious Violet)

2. Abysites (all stat buffs, all HP buffs,)

3. proper daggers (Lots of good ones right now but Daka+1 stands out. As it is relatively easy to get and does great damage. I see you are dnc also and dnc can equip this)

4. gear (The new gear is no longer a side grade but is actually better then the old gear we had. So try to get your hands on some AF3+1, AF3+2 legs can be low-manned with 2-3 members, Qirmiz Tathlum, Belenos' Mantle, Arctier's Torque. To name just a few. Some of these you can buy of the AH for a very low price. Some of these you can get from very easy NM)

5. food (With all this new power you can pick a food that complements what you have gotten. You will probably find that accuracy food got less interesting and attack food got more interesting. Test and try new things out.)

Getting your thf up to spec has never been more easy.

General math prescriptions have definitely changed. At the current time it's probably not worth it to try to make any huge generalizations because we're still a long way from 99. Best to go with case by case assessments.

Daka +1 is as you say relatively easy, but it should be pointed out that it is a substantial time investment. After 3 weeks of Walk of Echoes I'm currently 7/30 on Birth (I've also gotten 15 Glory, 11 Advancement and 9 Ruin while at it).

I do have a question about the +2 legs though. Am I correct in assuming it's Tristitia you're referring to? And would you mind sharing a strategy for it?

There has been a lot of critical damage boosting equipment added lately, on top of the trait, which you might want to look into. These include, among others, Loki's kaftan, Qirmiz tathlum, Cavaros mantle and Fatality belt (unkown latent). In addition to these the add-on scenario rewards all have critical damage as a possible augment. Add this all together and you have a respectable boost to SA, TA and stacked WS (especially Evisceration).

Amuluk Low-man:

Run to pop area (tele 4). Buff up with shell 5/5 and aff. solace baraera. Mage pop NM and pull it down from the ledge. Thf stay's on top of ledge. People on the ledge will not get hit by AoE at all. Except for magic spells like tornado and silencega. The NM is so big that you can melee him from the top of the ledge.

The mage that ran down has to position Amuluk perfectly. Now SA Amuluk from the top of the ledge. You will now have hate and can start tanking it. The mage that ran down can now run back to the top of the ledge and move in front of the thf. The thf can now TAws the mage. Mandy stab does great on Amuluk. Collaborator you mage when it is up.

Relevant members should bring echo drops.

My setup thf, whm, blm.

Blm was there to stun ga4, Tornado (AoE) and trigger yellow !! Yellow can be triggered by all magic spells of the pop day, the next day or the previous day. Example: You pop Amuluk on darkday then the next day is fire and the previous day is light. So the spells to use are dark, fire and light based. Even blu spells and brd threnody can trigger yellow !!

When the NM uses a tp move or when it is casting then it can't trigger yellow !! So to trigger yellow !! can be very annoying. But when you do get it it is very rewarding. Since you get 2-3 coins instead of 1.

I duod amhuluk yesterday with a whm and it wasn't a hard fight at all. It took about 10 minutes to kill but he went down easy. The only thing that matters is having the mage drag him into the pit. He only used aeroga 4 once, and other than that he was a cakewalk.
