Raiders seals Head, legs and feet...Follow

#1 Sep 16 2010 at 11:44 AM Rating: Decent
So I am trying to hunt down my seals for of course the new AF. So far I have been spamming the quest in Misareaux Coast called "Cookbook of Hope Restoring". It is supposed to have seals for feet but so far i only gotten plenty of Unkai and Orison leg seals respectively. I would like to know if anyone has found a faster way party or solo to get these?

The cookbook quest gives legs, not feet. Mis coast is legs, attowha is feet (I think) and Vunk is head.

But yeah, Barrister is right, go as another job, it's probably lolsuperstition but it won't cost you jack.

EDIT: Vunk is feet, and attowha is head.

I'm amazed nobody has mentioned it yet, but the NM Manohra drops the Raider's Seal: Legs as well as the spider Athamas. Manohra is a forced spawn just north of Verdical Conflux #4 and his pop item is the Avian Remex which drops from Frigatebirds. I did some research and found him on wiki yesterday and farmed a few pop triggers (they drop decently and the ??? is a 3 minute respawn). Frigatebirds do not aggro but link with each other as well as the NM, so you will want to fight south of the spawn just north of the #4 conflux. The NM himself is a pushover except for one attack, Damnation Dive, which seems to be a 2 fold conal attack (yes conal) which can be absorbed by 2 utsusemi shadows. Damnation Dive has high accuracy and hits for approximately 500-700 and upwards of 1200-1400 damage depending on whether or not one or two hits land, and it has an additional effect of silence as well as a very LONG stun. The silence effect lasts about 30 seconds to a minute but the stun is lethal because if he hits you with it it means you have main hate, and it's a good 5-10 second duration. If you survive Damnation Dive he will probably kill you unless you get cured because he hits for approximately 300 damage per swing and you won't be able to defend yourself until it's too late.

Other than that Manohra is an easy NM and can be taken down by a group of 4-6 people. He does not cast and he doesn't have any AoE's, so aside from his conal Damnation Dive he doesn't have anything special to offer. He can drop Lancer's, Raider's, Ravager's, and Charis seals, although he only appears to drop ONE seal per kill. I fought him twice and got Charis and Ravager's, but I intend to return today for another go or two. I'd MUCH rather attempt a force spawned NM than deal with a 30 minute respawn spider, and I went 1/15 on the cookbook quest and got one white mage seal to show for it and gave up. The cookbook quest is a waste of time and I could probably waste 20-40 traverser stones before getting my 8 Raider's seals that way. Not to mention it's a pain in the **** of a fetch quest. I'll take my chances with Manohra thank you very much.

A friend of mine was in an abyssea XP party on those vultures and they would drop a party of people that wanted the seals to kill the nm. Exp sucked for the party that droped but they kept getting the TEs and 3 guys got all their seals in a couple hours.

Worth looking into.

Cookbook of hope restoring does drop Raider's Seal: Legs for sure.. took me about 6 hours of spamming it on THF, but finally got 8 seals.

We are doing some random NM's tonight to see what we can find as well. Hopefully I can post some hopeful info for everyone.

An AF3 guide might be in order though... those head seals are gonna be tough. Hoping there are 2-3 easy pop NM's that will drop them, because that head piece is awesome lol.

Someday soon my friends, this ride will come to and end, and we can't just get in line again.

Pallid Percy drops the head. But from what I've heard most of the tier 1 NMs (both roaming and popped) drop head seals.

Pallid just happens to be a pop NM and its pop item drops pretty regularly so its easy to superfarm.

As bad as I want this stuff, I wonder if it's a little too easy to get, given how strong it is.

If your talking about Misareaux Coast maw then I guess you mean the birds called "Frigatesomething", and not the colibris. We did an xp party their but i think the group was full of fail cause we didn't get any TE. I was puller so i couldn't see who was finishing off the mobs but i got pop item.

Just got my Unkai Haidate, just need another 500 bastion credits to get raider legs, oh and a party to get thf to 83+

I have never figured this out. Why drop a party, that just keeps everyone from getting all chest rewards. I have never really noticed exp drop off because a nm was killed.

Exp does start over if an NM is killed, found out the hard way a few days ago.

Exp resets if you kill an NM. It sucks.

If you are killing an NM across the zone it doesnt reset exp for those far away (the exp group) but does reset it for those that killed NM. You can actually just charge through a zone with 1-2 parties killing NMs and leave 1 expish group killing things far away just fine.
