Has anyone gotten ahold of one of these bad boys yet?

Or heard anything regarding the crit damage increase?

How many did you kill it with? Lowmanable?

Heard it's relatively easy to kite/path, so would imagine it could be low-manned in the proper spots with ranged jobs.

0/2 myself. I assume a low drop rate because I hear other groups on my server have yet to see this body drop.
Turul is sort of hard to lowman since it keeps healing itself with thunder V. You can stun its thunder V and we are level 85 now so that should make it a bit more easy. And weakness trigger also got an update which should help drop rate.

Thf role in this fight should be ranged attacks. With either x-bow or archery. I used archery myself. Then run in for SATAws. Be sure to turn away right after you ws it. You don't want to melee Turul. Shock spikes will kill you.
I went thf/war but thf/rng should also work well.

I'm wondering about Thf/Cor for these kinds of fights now as well. Quick draw not only for damage, but now it gives TP too.

Also, I forget. Is Sekkanoki 2 hander only? Not that I can imagine it being useful in this fight particularly, but /sam still isn't terrible for certain other you-can't-melee situations.

The main problem with thf/cor on turul is that you getting tp with a combination of QD and impractical cannon shells. Which only stack up to 12. QD gives tp but it is only once every minute (I dont think many thf here use mirke body with QD aguments). And shooting cannon shells for 20-40 min will be **** on your inventory not to mention super expensive.

It makes more sense to tp with arrows then run up to turul and do a SATAws. Or if you plan to kite it go thf/rng and use sidewinder. I admit right away that you can use slugshot when you go thf/cor but again you are stuck with 12 cannon shells per stack.

thf/cor with QD works great on NM that resist melee damage like chukwa, lacovie and ovni.

Sekkanoki works for thf/sam with dagger/dagger but you won't be able to use sidewinder/slugshot. And for turul your damage out put will be lower then a thf/rng.

What about using shark gun or coffin maker THF/COR QD kiting and shoptting for TP/WS?

I asked a similar question a few weeks ago in this topic:
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?fjob=10&mid=1281481790140219847&page=1

Turns out that Failnaught (long bow type) is our second best ranged attack option. Best being culverin.
I don't think a watered down QD from shark gun or coffin maker will suddenly beat Failnaught. But feel free to run the math.

The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

Finally saw a kaftan today. A player from the top JP HNMLS on levi server had it:
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a372/Breaze/pimpthf.png

This thf had some interesting items: Loki kaftan, Brisk mask, Raider's Boomerang (dual wield one), Goading belt, lvl 80 mandau and most important Ulthalam ring...........Mars's Ring where?

That build had a total of 31 sTP. Still not sure if I would give up mirke (DW acc) for tp. DEX11 and 7sTP does not scream tp gear to me. The crit boost on the kaftan better be awesome.

I tried to ask how the crit dmg worked but no reply. Probably another X's knife type boost.

Chiv Chain. /facepalm I can't see the Kaftan being TP gear at all, extremely high acc/haste situations you use rap, otherwise you use mirke, bad THF with a LS working for him I guess?
