impair eva or def?Follow
I know these are not the best options for the dagger trials, believe me I would like to work on a str/att or dex/acc but I just dont have the time. I just dont have the time to work my schedule around the game. With the impair eva or def, I can log on and go to work on it if I feel like it. So opinions on which would be more helpful would be great
Strictly WITHOUT running the math, I would say lower def. dagger, since THF has a fairly high acc on most things via gear, merits and skill, doing a bit more damage per hit should always be good. But granted, it depends on your gear and blah blah. I'm sure someone will run the math; just my two cents.

I went for def down kila because I missed being able to stick acid bolts easily on mobs. Also eva down effect probably overwrites feint just like the def down effect overwrites angon. I don't always party with DRGs using agon, but I'm a THF with max feint merits and I use it.

I have a def down sword and its pretty nice. I did it because it was less of a timesink than most the stat based trials, and I needed a good sword on BLU. Of course I am doing several stat based trials now. It procs fairly often on lower mobs, but the rate (esp. when DW) is pretty poor on harder mobs. When it does proc on higher mobs the def down is fairly noticeable. Of course you could DW one of each and decide what you like better! (though I think 15% def down is the winner)

Not totally on subject with the OP question, but it fits in here a little bit.
So, I've completed 1 Fire Kila, and am using Fire/Blau mostly. How does the def down kila stack up in a kila/kila setup vs the blau? is the def down/higher base dam worth more than the low delay and attack bonus that blau provides?
Assume capped ACC for simplicity sake.

I myself chose to do both. my acc itself is pretty fine most of the time, but on more evasive stuff I do notice the help from the EVA- dagger and it helps jobs like the PLD a lil bit to get a few more hits in I guess. I <3 my DEF down one, but I still don't know if it stacks with acid. It can prob after an Acid bolt DEF is on, but Acid can't proc while it is on

Only the "physical" path weapons are rares; all the "elemental" path weapons (the ones that need weather/day effects and such) aren't rare
