Whats the deal with mandalic stab?Follow
I am writing this because I am a little torn with this WS. I don't know what to do about it. I am trying to decide whether this WS is better than Sharkbite, but I can't seem to make a decision. I have been parsing a lot lately, but it seems like Shark Bite and Mandalic stab are so close to equal, that I can't make a decision on this. Personally, I think Shark Bite probably has more potential due to an extra hit and a minimum pDif of 2.0 on the first hit, but everyone seems to lean towards Mandalic Stab and its 1.66 attack mod. What do you fellow thieves think about these two WSs?
on mobs that arent merit level or squishy id lean towards SB(though id jsut use evis/DE anyway) anythign beyond that where your dmg would take a dive id use MS, swap to SB if over 200~ TP, just personal preferance

Well, I think I have solved my query with Mandalic Stab. I was looking around for information and I had never noticed that along with x1.66 attack, Mandalic stab also starts with a 2.0 fTP bonus. That certainly makes quite an impact. Based on my current gear, Mandalic stab should average approximately 128 damage more than Shark Bite when fighting greater Colibri with no buffs at all. I was totally unaware of the fTP bonus on Mandalic stab. That clears up a lot of issue I had with the WS. Although, if you could somehow get your base attack very high, Sharkbite should ultimately win in those scenarios.

but why stab on birds in the first place, it's mainly a ws that shines on stuff like gods/jailers, something of that magnitude, evis/DE usually average/peak better on merit mobs iirc?

I wouldn't actually, but since I actually knew their stats, I was using them as a basis for comparison.
I use Stab exclusively on things that I would actually use SB on anyway. The only difference is 20% dex mod vs 1.66x atk. 66% more atk is HUGE on hard mobs. The only time I use SB over stab (on hard mobs) is to make light/frag. I use both on easier mobs if I can make light. But basically, i default to DE. I use Evis/SB/Man stab only if SC is there. On hard mobs, Stab unless i can close light/frag then SB.

i still pop off MS or SB if it will make a lv3 chain. the WS itself does less damage, but the SC will make up for it on merit mobs.

Attack boost seems to be somewhere between 1.5 and 2.0. Studio Gobli says 1.66 but that's pretty unusual for a WS. Most are either 1.5 1.75 or 2.0
which leads me to believe it's probably 1.75
