Probably on Dancing Edge cuchlains is better, but warwolf is fine, augment it and even better.

For the VAST majority of situations, cuchulains will beat warwolf on every WS. (And rapes on Sharkbite and Mandalic stab).

I currently have a warwolf aug with +3 acc and for my gear etc, cuchulain still wins. However, if you get a perfect+6acc warwolf, warwolf will pull ahead on DE/Evis. However, if your Fstr is capped, then edge goes back to cuchulain.

Cuchulain is foolproof. It wins no matter what your Fstr is against warwolf in most everything. If you get a 5-6acc warwolf AND Fstr/Acc is not capped, warwolf pulls ahead on multi hits.

I <3 Cuch's belt.

That aside, its always nice to get some damn attack in on ws gear. As a thf its so rare to be in a situation where you have "too much" attack, but its damn easy to not have enough.

I'd go so far as to say you're never in a situation where you have "too much" attack. The only times your attack will be that close to or over cap is when you're farming easy prey/too weak mobs, or with a bard/cor party at merit. Even with the /war sub job you even cap attack on silly colibri without help, so it goes without saying that when you're /nin attack matters even more.

Cuchulain's belt will be better than warwolf in all but the most rare of scenarios; those being the aforementioned warwolf with 5-5 accuracy boost on multi hit weaponskills, or on mercy stroke. But since most thieves will never have mercy stroke, that makes the better choice pretty easy.

Use it in a hybrid subtle blow setup as an alternative to PeisteBelt+1 /(^^)/ (or I guess warwolf might be better for that actually)

On Mandalic Stab your attack will either be capped or close to capped so adding +10 att will probably have less of an effect than +5 STR.

I thought of it first:

On lolibri yes. On 2hour brd super buff, mob debuffed zergs yes. On anything that you would actually USE mandalic stab on for more than a SC, no. Im not capping atk on HNMs unless im in a 2xbrd+Cor+feint+angon+Dia party eating meat with zerk up...but then i would be using DE anyway......(exaggerated, but concept applies. If Man stab is capping your atk due to /war and good buffs/debuffs, then SB or DE/Evis will be better anyway)

The whole idea of using mandalic stab is in situations that your atk is suffering. If its not suffering, then you use a different WS. When atk is junk, then cuchulain is really adding 16-17 atk, or even more if zerked.

Acc sucks but atk is fine: SB (buffed party on mamool lurkers for example).
Atk sucks=Man stab
Atk/Acc OK=DE/Evis

I suppose you could say that "Warwolf is better for Man stab if your using it on easy mobs for SC purposes" but to me, i wouldnt bother with yet another macro to get 5 more damage out of a WS in situations that I rarely if ever use it in the 1st place. I dont worry much about min-maxing things to that degree. If you do, great, but maximizing Man stab on low def mobs just so I can occasionally get a couple damage on a light SC on pansy mobs isnt worth it to me. Why optimize a WS for a situation that a different WS is superior anyway?
