There is something very satisfying about completing a long-term major goal like this and thoroughly enjoyed the (sometimes frustrating) process for my Twash and am sure you are doing the same.

On the accomplishement side, I finally did my 1st few synergy augments. I now have heca feet+1 with 3str and 2 polearm skill (superb for my drg, 3 more str not shabby on thf). Also Heca subligar+1 now has Crit Rate+3 and lolResist blind. Wonderful wonderful evis pants ^_^ For only having 6 tatters, I got 2 pretty solid augments. I am quite content with these as a great base to slowly work on the better augments later....squeezed in between my alex purchases ; ;

On the long term goals, though not very thf-y (but im doing everything to get it on thf so that counts right? :P), I have passed the 25% mark (7,500) for alex for my Ryunohige mythic. currently 7,590/30,000. Just about on pace ^_^

I still haven't bothered to cap marksmenship yet since I hit 90 lol. I'd just use feint before spamming bolts whenever I needed to.

Put together my +2 legs, and only 1 seal away from +2 body now. Ls member was nice enough to give me the neptunal head abjuration from his fafnir when a group of us did ks99/faf/nid. <3 Now I either have to wait 2 months until I have enough gp to get t1 on cursed cap, or I can just spend ~2m and buy a -1.

Not sure when it happened exactly, but I noticed I've got a blue number for marksmanship! Hooray!

Regarding atmas, I have thought about an abyssea specific build to capitalize on the epeen/fun factor of rudras but I dont have the specific gear to pull it off yet.

RR/Omni/SS

The difference obviously being omnipotents +50 dex and 10% gear haste. So the build would focus on dropping 10% haste gear for 8% DW. My ideal would be:

Twash/Fusetto(TPbonus)
RaiderRang (DW+3)
Cuah. Headpiece+1
Brutal
Suppa (DW+5)
Mextli Harness (DW+3)
Raider Hand+2
Raja
Epona
Atheling
Nuska's Sash (DW+5)
Raider leg+2
Homam/Ryuga Sune ate

This would be a 16% haste (+10% gear haste from Omni atma for 26%), while upping DW from 33(/nin+suppa+raiderRang) to 41% DW.

I think that would be some epic fun to have the MOST powerful rudras possible in the game (TP bonus offhand with RR/SS/Omni atmas) while still having rather epic melee damage with 41% DW and capped gear haste, not to mention, the actual melee related stats (non-haste/DW) on Mextli Harness and Cuah.Head arent shabby (you dont loose much compared to raiders in those slots.

Also, Mirke Wardecoders can rep in for mextli, but then you would ahve to use homam hands or replace raider head with zelus tiara.

I dont have either Mextli/Cuah head or nuskus yet so i cant play with it, but I have always wanted to try a DW related build+omni. Before it relied on mirke, but mextli+Cuah set bonus 8% haste really makes this seem much more viable to me as an 'abyssea' build, particularly for rudras people abusing the 50dex on omni.

I actually bought a white tathlum from way back at 75 for my drg STP builds and still use it there. Unfortunately my WOTG missions are woefully behind so i dont have the earring yet ; ; It will also likely have to compete with my drg for augments. Once i finish mythic getting a 5hit with 492 del lance is only with rather large sacrifices in gear on both TP/WS so its either 25TP bonus for twash vs a much more forgiving 5hit for Mythic lance with regain+1. Im hoping at 95+ drg gets a nice new STP piece or 2 that will make a 5hit less painful and i can go for 25TP bonus.

My buddy just got the 1st Fazheluo R. Mail (mextli equivalent for 'heavy' armor) in my LS the other day and said the Rare/EX '+2' versions of the voidwatch body armors work with the set bonus of either the NQ or the +1 head pieces. Those things are so stinking rare, i cant find any info so i just took his word for it. If he is right, the Mextli harness+Cuah. Head or Cuah+1 would give the 8% haste set bonus. If hes wrong, well yeah the whole build will fall apart. I havent found anything to support or refute him yet, so heres to hoping.

"IF" the set bonus works, it would basically be 13.5% more atk speed (33>41% DW. Assuming RaiderRang, but thats a separate issue.) vs 16 stp, 5% Crit damage and other marginal stats.

Im curious if we would get any favorable or unfavorable STP rounding with more DW so lets see.

Twas/Fusetto=176/186
33% DW=4.5tp/hit. 1hit=2.02sec. TP/Sec=2.23
41% DW=4.3tp/hit. 1hit=1.78sec. TP/Sec=2.42

So the extra 8% DW with these daggers would up DOT by 13.6% and TP up by 8.5% over time.

Id think that should hold up pretty well vs the 16stp and 5% crit damaage. Not to mention the greater acc/atk lended by mextli+Cuah and crit rate on raider pants over loki/raider hat. Id only really miss the 3% triple on raider hat.

For rudras builds i generally lean toward raw DPS over STP since theres a lotta sitting around on timers, my TP is rarely the issue holding me back. I lean with more melee damage than TP speed if i have to choose these days as I over TP often saving for rudras than I did spamming evis.

Of course this is all with the shady assumption that the set bonus actually works with Mextli harness. If it doesnt, the whole cookie crumbles and I would have to look at something similar to what you describe and compare it to Nuska/Mirke/zelus/Raider Hands or Nuska/Mirke/Raider hat/Ballerines or one of quite a few other 15-16 haste options.

Quite a lot of flexibility. But I mostly hope the set bonus info gets confirmed or not so I can figure it out one way or the other.

Although if i am trying to win a parse, I would probably just scrap omnipotent all together for the standard atmas, but DD is such a non-issue at this point in abyssea, this is more of just a 'fun' build for abyssea to maximize rudras for screenies and oooh/aahh effect on passerbys while actually keep total damage in the same ballpark as the cookie cutters. It will more than suffice for most activities in there :P

Ill see if i can talk my buddy into just buyin a NQ helm, removing all DA/Zanshin gear/subs and go swing as stuff for a while and see if he ever DA.(the set bonus is 5% DA for him). We can figure out if it works or not pretty fast.

So I finally got my epona's ring last night and I'm VERY happy with my TP set now. I'm pretty sure it's near-perfect barring a twashtar, and if it's not, it's pretty much what i've been working towards for a while.

It's now what I use when I don't have to TH whore or tank something and just want to put out as much damage as I can.

Oh, I have it, I just don't use it all that often. At some point I was convinced that qirmiz did more for me than the 'rang. Even using kinematics spreadsheets to calculate the difference it only comes out to a 2 DPS change in favor of the 'rang, and that's only if I get to melee constantly and am buffed with at least haste. Buffed with marches as well, and the difference is less than 1% and not enough to make me carry around a 'rang when I'm constantly swapping between nin and thf for one reason or another.

Yeah i think the gain from 200 to 300tp is smaller than the extra mab (~15% vs ~33%). You can still use martial knife for 300tp tho. I think i saw a test that it does stack with fusetto on ffxiah or something.

Depends banalaty, if you are multibrewing, you could probably knock down more with AE than WF. I see a lot of groups popping 3 NMs at a time and using AE/other AoE WS to knock them all down at once. If you are just doing one at a time, WF is the way to go.

Recently returned to the game in June, playing very casually now, and finally got to 70 and Maat. 0/2 so far on stealing (frustrating!) and dreading having to go back out and steal another testimony, since I was something like 1/100 on each of the previous two. Got another testimony and decided I wanted to fight him. Spent 3 days capping dagger, marksmanship, and evasion for 70, thank you GoV leveling. Spent around 200k on gear (SH, spectacles, behemoth rings and other stuff for racc, acc, and eva), vile +1, opo necklace, hi pots, food and bolts. Things like Spartan Hoplon, blink band, stoneskin torque weren't on AH at the time, plus 50k each...ew. Spent an hour making macros. Finally ready, lets go!

Zoning into the BCNM, I had my strategy in my head of what to do, but what ever goes according to plan?

Started ugly...moved behind him, Sneak Attack macro, and...must've been 1 degree off or something cause no critical?! Great...no worries, we're ok. Dancing Edge go! Macro misfire! Yep... /ws Dancing Edge" <t>. Look closely, missing the first " and why didn't I go out and test it?!?! No worries, just use the menu and do it manually. Ok, did that. Icarus wing go! The macro worked, its a miracle! Dancing Edge again! Wait..macro doesn't work, do it manually. Cool, he's at 50%. Asuran Fists! Run away! At this point, combined with his regular hits on me for 100-150, I'm in red HP. Vile elixer+1 = yellow HP. All right. Sleep bolt, miss. Sleep bolt, miss! Sleep bolt, hit!! Move behind, Sneak Attack...hit! Hi-Pot. Hi-Pot. Bloody bolt. Perfect Dodge. My cards are all played, he's at 31% so...pray? We exchange several hits at this point, both of us having crap accuracy, and I'm down to 31 hp and I hit Flee preparing to run away when somehow I critical and he gives up!

A few days late, but I finally finished the AF3+2 set for THF. I took a break from the grind to finish leveling BLU and all my subs and help the Wife get her WHM to 90 with decent skills and gear. We joined a small group doing +2 farming and have managed to get a lot of pieces done for our jobs. They do empyreans as well, so might have to dust off my dagger and finish off the last 2 VNM trials before glavoid and actually work towards the twashtar again.

Still playing pretty casual though, outside of game I accomplished getting the wife pregnant! I might as well cram in all thegaming I can now lol.

Finally finished up 90 Twash and TP Bonus Centovente the other day.

Random question, but have any of you guys had Orthrus go into total dick mode and start spamming Acheron Flame? I don't mean like every 30 seconds but literally 6-8 seconds in between? I had one do it the other day and that was the first I've seen him do anything like that my whole 90 stage.

So my LS does a Qilin run. Ive already done at least 60+ on my own time and cant get those stupid boots to save my life. We do 4 fights, im only swapped in for #2 and #4. Guess what appears by some form of what can only be witchcraft on the last fight of the night?

Well, it has been officially 1 month since I returned to the game. Before I came back, the last time I had played was in 2009. Some of these may seem pretty mundane, but I'm excited at the progress I've made. Achievements include:

THF 75 -> 95, NIN 38->49, DNC 37->49
All 9 Abyssea zone-boss wins, 3/6 Caturae killed
WAR AF3+1 body, THF AF3+1 Hands, smattering of +1/+2 items for other pieces
Angr Harpe, Triplus Dagger, Athelling Mantle
All 3 Lunar Abyssites, Atmas of the Voracious Violet and Razed Ruin
Progress on Magian dagger (evasion path) up to killing 200 Malboro
Capped Dagger @Lv95 and halfway through Evasion.

All-in-all, not too shabby. Everything is so much faster than it was back in 2009 - it's really quite refreshing to know I can log in for an hour and make meaningful progress.

Came back last week. I've decided to go for Mandau. I'm 1/3 of the way through stage two now. It seems crazy to me that such a goal is possible for me. It's something I always wanted to accomplish in my FFXI career. :)

I even lucked out and got a rdm hat to drop for my mule in the xarc run killing 10x animated dagger. (and a pair of AAs, and a wyrm armet...I feel dirty. Those 3 items were the rarest drops in my dynamis LS years ago and i just got all 3 in a trio and my mule got all of them..../dirty)

Now I just need to get a +1 heca cap and augment it for mercy, but thinking about just waiting till craft skills go up to 110 so I can break T1 on it easily. Now all money goes to 90Twash upgrades and remaining time into making PW pops for 99 Ryunohige and hope Im not to far down on the list in my LS for ADL relic 99 drops then i will have a 99 of each weapon type and have the trifecta! {Mhuara}hahahahahahahaaaaa!!!!!

First time THF poster, it's my newest max level job (and probably final, 6 jobs is plenty for me). Been working on the finishing touches of a good 99 setup the past couple weeks:
* 5/5 Raider's +2 set
* 5/5 Exenterator
* Assassin's feet +2
* Bought an Ocelomeh Headpiece
* Finished getting AF legs/body from coffers for completion's sake, then sent em straight to the Porter Moogle (now have AF+1 hands and 4/5 NQ AF)

Future checklist:
* Upgrade Assassin's Gloves to +2 (lolTH)
* Work on a fire path Thokcha to go with my AGI/eva Thokcha (and other various options I already have like Twilight, Oynos, Auric) Never mind as of 3/26 update... Hello there Aluh Jambiya.
* Do some Dynamis farming in the appropriate zones to get the Assassin's body/legs I never got, again for set completion's sake
* Break the Nyzul dagger to unlock Mandalic Stab
* Try for some VW gear (hahahahaha yeah right, but there's always hope for a miracle): Fajin Boots, Toci's Harness, new stuff after March update

Outside of an Empy/Relic dagger, which really isn't my priority right now over other jobs, looks pretty much like the complete package!
