Im a lvl 11 THF and I was wondering what does a Theif add to the group? Do others benifit from my passive skills while in a party, for example the ability to gain more gil per kill, do other people in my party benifit from that..?
I was just wondering what I can do to help my party because right now I kind of feel like I'm leaching off of them because they may gain no benifit from me.

Both Gilfinder and Treasure Hunter apply when in a group situation.

Sneak Attack is an ability that is most useful in party situations, properly timed, you can almost always execute two of them in a single battle.

Trick Attack is a very useful ability in groups, in fact, it will not work unless you are in a group.

As for benefit, as a Thief, you are able to output only slightly less damage than a Monk, and have three different viable weapon choices in Dagger, HtH, & Sword.

How do you do that if you can only use Sneak Attack before a battle is started..?

i just got sneak atk today, and the answer is: you don't have to use it before battle. you just have to use it when the enemy's back is to you. if you're in a group, it works really well. i suggest switching to first-player mode so you can SEE the enemy. i usually use it twice per battle (once to begin the battle, and once to end the battle). it's once per minute. im lvl 15 and it does between 35 and 100 dmg. usually about 60.
