Question about melee WHM weapons.Follow

Since I don't forsee a Kraken Club in my future, I have begun building an Oa2-4 times Naboot+3, my question is if I am better off building a Double Atk+10 club rather than the Occasionally attacks 2-4 when it comes down to strictly TP gain. I have a Gambanteinn for my main hand and am just looking for something to use in my off-hand that will help with TP gain while not sacrificing a lot of damage (The Naboot will do similar damage to Gamby). Along with my other melee gear I feel that it will be a nice setup to gain TP fast enough to make good use of Aftermath, but I am wondering that since DA, TA, QA all compete with OaX weapons, if I am going to be sacrificing TP gain. If not then it's all gravy but I don't want to go through the trouble of making a weapon and finding out I should have made the other instead. Anyone have a solid answer?

The 2-4 club absolutely wins, hands down.

do you have a lot of double/triple/quad attack on your whm gear? (Just curious, I haven't seen a lot of it)

None, personally. If you don't have a Kraken, then Brutal Earring is nice. Many people also use Aesir Mantle, although I personally use an augmented Resilient Mantle (again, KC).

From what I've heard, you'd still want to use DA with the 2-4 Naboot. The 2-4 Naboot supposedly averages about 2 swings per round or maybe a little higher, I can't remember, but the DA also works on your main hand so it still ends up being better.

I should mention that I mathed out DA vs. Mjo/KC here:
http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/42449-WHM-Melee-random-crap?p=4527057#post4527057

And below that, TA vs. Mjo/KC here:
http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/42449-WHM-Melee-random-crap?p=4569319#post4569319

In the case of OA2-4, DA actually should help, just not as much as it does for normal weapons!

Short:
-- Kraken may be hurt by DA, but helped by TA, and QA.
-- OA2-4 should be helped by DA, TA, and QA!

Note:
I say "may/should" because it does depend on your melee:WS damage ratios a little bit :)
However provided it isn't astronomically far away from 1:1, DA/TA/QA are still helpful!

Rya guess what, I'm finally working on Mjollnir! :) The Dynamis revisions finally convinced me that DD WHM was worth investing real effort into. WHM/DNC utterly rapes in there.

Currently about 30% done with it!

Double attk/dual wield Royal Redingote, Double Attk/haste A Shantotto pants, Double attack on Blithe Mantle, Triple/Quad on Windbuffet Belt, Brutal earring

So about +7 Double Attack, +1 and 2% Triple/Quadruple attack

Halfway done with my Naboot+3 (OaX variety) (Getting Krabkatoa shells is a bit harder than I imagined, have 5 of the 10 I need), but all in all the melee setup is coming along nicely.

Anyone know of a good neckpiece? Currently I'm using Ziel Charm for the +12 Acc, and I haven't decided if I should use the Kthonios Mask or Zelus Tiara. Will probably make a Light Gorget as well for WS and test it out in combination with Light Belt. I also need to find some decent boots then my entire setup is just about done.

For TP necklace we don't have many options. Ziel & Prudence are both good options, and there's a new necklace with 8 club skill that I'd say is probably our best option right now if you don't need the extra accuracy from Ziel.

Savateur's Gaiters are the best boots out there right now. I use Marduk's Crackows for weaponskill.

Zelus Tiara, Blessed Mitts+1, Ninurta's Sash, Blessed Trousers +1, and Savateur's Gaiters = capped haste without body slot. Alternately you could trade Blessed Pumps +1 & Rubeus Spats or ASA pants. Or use Savateur's plus one of those pants and settle for 25% haste.

Have to say Rubeus Spats looking very very nice....never seen/heard of those before this.

Savateur's Gaiters are also very nice.

So far I've been able to push Hexa Strike (with aftermath) up to 49XX dmg in aby. Granted this was before +2 Double Attk (not sure if this will really help all that much), and I still have yet to make a Light Gorget and test it with a Light Belt vs. Light Gorget / Windbuffer Belt. Windbuffet seems like a great belt for spike damage but I'll have to see once I get a Light gorget whether Light Belt will be worth it to macro in for WS. Currently I like Windbuffet over Light Belt for WS as it seems it improves damage output considerably. I need to hunker down and finish out AMK missions for the hat for an added boost in damage. Does anyone use Kthonios Mask?? Wondering if I should go with that or get Zelus Tiara for the extra 4% haste. Fought Panto 2x and even with blue and TH did not get the tiara to drop. Oh well. Should have Naboot finished up to the silver mirrors this week! Currently at 80/150 silver mirrors as well. 42/1500 Heavy Metals for my Gamby upgrade! Lol

Khthonios Mask seems pointless to me personally, but KC kind of makes you laugh at store TP. Sorry to hear you're 0/2 with blue proc, that's bad luck. :(

I'd strongly suggest a Rancor Collar or Mantle for your Hexa Strike as well, if you don't mind building Tonberry hate. I personally used Rancor Collar, Resilient Mantle, and Light Belt for Hexa. However, I pretty much haven't used Hexa since Realm came out, since I don't really DD in Abyssea on WHM. Realm beats Hexa outside Abyssea.

Luckily I got into a PUG for some random seals I needed last night and came across an LS farming plates and souls, asked them if I could pop Ironclad and got another popset for Panto. Will try again with blue and TH and see what happens.

I'll definitely try out Rancor Collar. Realm is fun to use inside or outside aby (the damage isn't always great inside aby, but I like the way it looks), sometimes it actually does decent damage, but not enough to use it a lot in aby. Outside aby it's very consistent. I just gotta work on more MND gear to go with it. Anyway thanks for the suggestions!

I was thinkin about stepping up my WHM/DNC power before bugging friends to do dynamis XP trials with me, what do y'all think would be the primary upgrades to make?

TP:
KC/Genbu's/x/Mana Ampulla
Khthonios Mask/x/Ethereal Earring/Novia
Hedera/Blessed/Raja/Tyrant
x/Goading Belt/Rubeus Spats/Savateur's Gaiters

Realm:
KC/Genbu/x/Mana Ampulla
Orison Cap +2/Flame Gorget/Brutal Earring/Ethereal Earring
Heka's Kalasiris/Healer's Mitts +1/Aquasoul/Aquasoul
x/Light Belt/Rubeus Spats/Orsn. Duckbills +2

First things first: Get a main-hand club. WHM/DNC has dual wield, so ditch that shield. KC is a great off-hand weapon but base damage is too low to effectively single-wield. Get something with a nice high base damage.

Also get rid of Brutal Earring in your Realm build. If you dual wield, Realm's 7 hits become 8, and 8 is the max number of hits for a WS. You literally cannot swing more than that.

Those are the only two glaring problems I see.
