So I was running through white mage gear in my head today. And for some reason merits popped into my head. Then Banish rolled into my head and the description rolled through my brain and I went... Wait a tick. Increases the damage of banish by 2.. Where have I seen that before. Hmm.. Hmm... OH!

Rocking Phantasy star online 2. And loving it! Hopefully sega get's it right this time. They are having a much better start this go around then Universe but still a ways off calling it a hot contender in today's MMO market.
Regarding the second question, the cap on cure potency is apparently +50%.

The merit is probably a +2 boost to Magic Attack Bonus on Banish, based on how BLM potency merits work. Which is still meh.
I don't personally know anyone that's gotten those merits, because any WHM that puts merits in anything other than Curespeed/Regen/Barspells in group 1 is kind of a moron.

It's not 2 MAB, it's just a straight 2 points of damage. If you have 5/5 banish merits you get a whopping 10 points of extra damage. This is exactly the same as 6 of the 7 ninja group 1 merits, and just as worthless.
