Was trying to get an idea for my level 50 whm,

Which NMs should a WHM camp to get useful items for their job.
Post NMs , locations, and items that you find useful.

There realy aren't any NMs worth camping for WHM50 gear. You could get a Carect Ring off Stubborn Dredvodd in Phanauet Channel, but just buy an Electrum Ring realy.

IMO, WHM is the most "fortunate" job who could get most decent gear from AH alone. There isn't many gear that is from NM could make or break the job.
With enough player-skill, namely enmity and mp control, and actual in-game skill level, WHM could do there job even naked.

That could be said as, WHM is a skill-dependent job rather then a equipment-dependent job like a DD.

You could (if you don't already have) camp the Sahagin in SSG for the Holy Ampulla. You could also do the quests for the promise badge if you wanted a MND piece.

Really the most important thing at this point is to focus on doing your artifact armour quests and getting your hands on a light and dark staff at level 51.

You might want to pick up a Water Staff as well. For a stoneskin macro piece if anything.

To be prefectly honest, this is a waste of space. The only things a WHM would find a water staff useful for is casting stoneskin, and trying to land poison.

The +4 MND on the water staff is far inferior to the hidden M Acc bonuses of the other staves for elemental debuffs.

There are 5 staves I'd recommend a WHM to get. Light and Dark are a given. The Earth (slow), Ice (paralyze) and Wind (silence). For repose, holy and flash, you're better served by using your Light Staff.

If you want water staff for Stoneskin, you'd be better off with a Rose Wand +1 lv 48 and +5 Mnd i believe.

As far as non Nms, (going with the AH gear path) i would suggest crow gear until your AF (don't need all of it)

I agree that Whm is a job that is not as heavily reliant on gear as some other jobs are.

Sure there are pieces which are exceptional, but Most of them, are either Questable or AHable.

Grab a set of antivenom and insomnia earrings off the AH too. A water staff is useful for repose as well as stoneskin and isn't exactly an expensive item so you should consider picking up one of those too.

Light or Apollo's staff for Repose. Anything else is wrong. Please stop saying things like this, because if I see one more person using a water staff for divine magic, I'm going to lose it.

As for gear from NMs, couldn't tell you.

As for gear in general, I'd make sure you have a good resting set. Dark Staff alone is not okay. Get a Qiqirn Sash +1, a Seer's Tunic, some Baron's Slops, a Cobra Hat (At 55.), a Beak Necklace +1, and anything else with hMP on it, and macro it in when you rest. This, along with some ginger cookies, will make your MP come back a ton faster, and make you a better overall WHM.

Contrary to popular belief; Elemental staves aren't a % increase in magic accuracy. They're simply a straight +Magic Accuracy added into your spells (+20 and +30 Respectively).
It's the way this M.Accuracy works that people assumed it was a % (that, and how the damage boost works).

So no, there is not one situation where Water/Neptune's staff will net you more M.Accuracy for Repose. Not even if your Divine Magic skill is 0.

How far were you planning on going with mage jobs before you learned about elemental staves?

Probably because people keep changing the info on the individual pages, because they did not bother to learn what was on the collective elemental staves page. I got through Aquilo's on the elemental staves page editing their individual pages, but now I have to leave for work.

Touching, thanks.

Wow, sounds like SalvationinPurgatory (love the irony here) is a sore loser.

Next time you're going to wish for a retroactive abortion, have the guts to keep the post up instead of erasing. Coward.

And no, I'm not gonna edit this to save face.

Well I finished changing all the individual wiki pages. Someone also added that elemental staves alter blood pact recasts, so I took that garbage out too. Hopefully people stop reverting the changes now that I added that blog link to each discussion page.
