Does anyone know, for Divine Magic, is it better to use a Water Staff or Light Staff? I always used a Light Staff since the spells were light based, but I just noticed the stats on the Water Staff and am now confused. If a Water Staff is better, should I continue to use a Light Grip?

Without a doubt the Light/Apollo is a better choice for light-based magic. The hidden accuracy bonus will significantly outweigh that found on the Water Staff. It's the same reason why you don't see BLMs nuking fulltime with an Ice Staff (at least I sure hope not).

I don't see what relevance the grip has since you can use that with either stave.

Yeah, the Light/Apollo's is the better option here, not just because of the MAcc bonus they provide, but also because of the 1.1x/1.15x multiplier to damage (for Banish/Holy).

The breakeven point between the two is ridiculously low. If something had dropped your MND to single digits, a Water/Neptune's Staff would beat a Light/Apollo's... but at that point, using a wand and MND+ shield would beat either option.

I don't know why I asked about the grips....that was a ridiculous question, thanks for the answers on the staff though.
