Last night the kid in our household started playing some game involving loud screeches at 10pm. Smiley: mad Eventually I told him to play a game that involved being quiet.

I dunno why a 4 year old needs to be up that late every night, anyway.

Also, amount of Smiley: mads is proportional to the amount of time I work, or something.

Doing math past midnight is a bad idea.

It was also made complicated by the fact that I had to do it all in CAS for Microsoft Word, but I'm using OpenOffice, and I'm not going to download and install Word just for this one assignment (next month it's Excel), so I got the stand-alone version of Microsoft Mathematics. Problem was, the guide for the assignment did not work at all with the stand-alone version, so I had to figure it out on my own.

I hate when that happens.

Right? Like, I'm barely able to absorb this math stuff without my head exploding all over the place, and then I have to figure out how a program works as well?

It's pretty neat, though, now that I've got a basic understanding of it.

Have you checked out LibreOffice? I have no clue if that functionality, specifically, is similar, but in general I've been quite pleased with it and how user-friendly it is.

Probably. Though not required in the least. I'm having a blast just playing without paying (the real money shop is open).

It'll launch f2p and from what I can tell, the pace of rewards you earn from playing is enough to do well.

Online F2P WoW TCG.

Well, "CCG" technically. No trading.

Oh, ok... well, I've already been addicted to Magic before I got into WoW, I think I'll stay away from a combination of the two.

Top notch comedy from Russia, they are accusing the Netherlands of violating human rights because a Russian diplomat was arrested in his home and held for a few hours because he was/is suspected of abusing his children (as in beating them, not sexual abuse). Even Putin commented on the occasion.

Oh, Russia... you so silly.

I find the hypocrisy pretty amusing.

Russian diplomats are rather infamous for abusing their diplomatic immunity. There was an article recently that diplomatic immunity costs the Dutch government some 2-300,000 euros each year in fines, the vast majority of that from Russian and Chinese diplomats.

What's the point of having something like diplomatic immunity if you aren't going to take advantage of it anyway. Smiley: rolleyes

That's what the Pakistani embassy did here a couple of weeks ago. They fired an employee for getting pregnant. That's illegal according to Danish law, but the embassy refused to acknowledge the court's ruling, because diplomatic immunity...

Maz, can't you just do your formulas in Latex? The MS utility is a pain and the only reason I might go for the free Office 2013 license is the PDF editing stuff.

Also, I accidentally got enrolled as a PhD student somewhere and they can't change it now, apparently. Smiley: lol

cynyck, was hoping someone would catch the reference. Smiley: grin

Kali, I'm not sure LaTeX would be an improvement. The interface/input method seems very different from most other CAS programs I've checked out. The way you have to write fractions into it just seems like a huge waste of time, and so many braces... probably the most annoying symbols to write on a Danish keyboard (Alt Gr + 7 and 0). You have to move your right hand away from the RShift position, which can ***** over your "touch typing".
