I think the one number was included in the other number maybe?

I don't recall exactly what I was up to, something like 100ish days over the 5ish years.

I know back in the day I used to log onto wow, and just hover over stormwind chatting with friends while actually working on other stuff. I accumulated a lot of hours that way.

I think the person who played 365 in a year realized it was possible to make it with a month or two left and actually tried to reach that milestone. Still, only 60 days in two months, so still far too much time spent in a game for me.

The way I see it is that if you've had bad experience with a popular dish, then it doesn't count. That way you can set yourself up for a better experience and not just give up. Also avoid finding out how it's made, or many of the ingredients. That goes a long way in enjoyment.

I'm sorry, I'm stuck on the phrase "at least a dozen."

And now I might need to have a donut for lunch... I HAVE been holed up in this cafe for like 2 hours now, and there's a cafe au lait donut mocking me...

Or I could walk to Doughnut Plant...

That would be useful if I was in New York or something, I'd be happy to try some donuts there or elsewhere in the US. I just don't trust dutch people to make edible donuts because nobody cares about donuts here.

Donuts really aren't a thing outside of the US. I'd love to go to NYC sometime, not for the donuts but for everything else. I want to get my driver's license before I go to the US though.

His Excellency Aethien wrote:

You can survive indefinitely in NYC without a license, so not really necessary. If you venture out then you might need it. Venture far enough and it becomes impossible to survive without.

I'll recommend it to my brother, he will probably be in NYC for a couple days next year.

edit: and while I wouldn't need a car in NYC I wouldn't fly over to the US just for NYC. If I'm there I would at least want to make a trip up to Vermont as well.

Re: Donuts

The donuts you can buy here, from 7-eleven and such places, are small dough rings that have been deep fried and covered in powdered sugar, or glazed with various kinds of sugary preservatives (with flavor). They're usually dry and very bland.

I'll take a good 'spandauer' over a donut any day.

No, my character can talk to animals and this is a cow and a bull talking. They gave me a quest to save them from their owner who was planning to sell them to be slaughtered.
It's the "MOOO" "Trust you to raise a moot point, Maurice" bit that cracked me up.

Divinity, it's a pretty cool game with lots and lots of freedom.

You're free to royally **** up quests by killing people you need to keep alive and **** like that. Or just set the world on fire, whatever you want. Deaths, NPC's and mobs included, are also permanent so kill the mayor of a town and he stays dead and the rest of the town likes you a lot less. Find a door that's locked? You can find the key or try to lockpick it and if both of those fail you can just blow the door to bits.

Single player, you control a party of 2. It's basically an old school western RPG with turn based combat. I've talked about it a bunch in this thread already.

Divinity: Original Sin, it's very fun at times and at other times gets really ******* frustrating and if you don't want to use google you're pretty unlikely to figure out every puzzle you meet (for instance, there's one loot chest that can only be opened if you buy a book from a vendor you met 10 levels earlier), not such a big deal but in another place you have to follow footprints through an area for the main quest and you'll only see the footprints if your perception stat is high enough and without that you have to make do with much vaguer hints.
The combat is very well done where you want the right mix of buffing, debuffing, crowd control and prioritizing who or what to kill first and has a lot of tactical possibilities like shooting a lightning bolt at a pool of water and everything in that pool will be electrocuted and possibly stunned including your own guys and you can also do this with pools of blood which you can create by making mobs bleed or just hitting them a lot. Poison clouds on the other hand explode violently when they come in contact with fire and explosions set the ground on fire or melt the ice on the ground or turn the pool of water into a mist, mist gives mobs and characters the "wet" buff which raises resistance to fire attacks and lowers resistance to electricity etc.

You also have to read the quest log your characters keep because the game won't tell you where to go or what to do and you'll have to make do with whatever hints the game has given you. And to make it more time intensive you get complete freedom with regards to making characters, my current party is a sword and board warrior with lots of defensive and utility abilities, a Witch/Fire mage with debuffs, necromancy skills and fireballs and an almost entirely damage oriented 2H warrior (though that's an NPC that you can get to join your party). More focused in one area means more powerful spells but if a mob has 100%+ resistance to the element of your spell you heal the mob instead of damaging it.

It's not region locked so you can get it as Steam gift for less than half the price. I paid €16.50 for my key while it's still €39.99 on Steam. It sounds kinda shady but those sites likely bought those keys while Divinity was on sale through a Russian account (or somewhere else where prices are much lower), making the game way cheaper than you can get it in Europe or the US. The one thing I'd make sure to do is buy a steam gift and not a key because the gift is guaranteed to work when you get it.
