I think you pretty much have to be gorilla kind of hairy before tattoos become pointless. If in doubt you could always ask a tattoo artist for advice (/r/tattoos has a bunch so you could even ask there).

It's more that I keep coming up with things that are understated to begin with, so the hair becomes a big problem.

Also, I sort of am gorilla hairy. Smiley: frown

Something really bold and black would show through, but I'm not really looking for a tribal band. Smiley: lol

The other thing is that I don't really want them visible by default. At least not at this stage in my career. So of course my forearm would be one of the best places available. Smiley: lol

Edit: Also idiggory, I suggest getting a bear in a leather harness tattooed on your chest, or on your ***. Either one.

No ice here yet, it's staying between 5-10°C. I've got to keep on the lights in my house though as the sun barely reaches above the trees if it isn't covered by clouds and rain.
Same here. Though thankfully we're at least a bit farther south.

It's 6:04 PM here and it's been pitch black dark outside for about half an hour.

My google says you're 52N-53N. I'm not sure I'd like having that little daylight in the winter. Having it be night when leave for work and night when I get home is bad enough, I'll keep my work time filtered gray sunlight.

I think I'll pass on that one.

I'm also stopping myself from making my first tattoo a gaming one.

Though that has nothing to do with having no idea which I'd want. Nope. Not a thing.

I like the dark so I don't mind it. It's just weird the first couple weeks because it feels like it's really late at night.

That's kind of happening nowadays. I get home from work at twilight, and body is telling me it's time to go sleep. You get really sluggish and want to sleep then your body is like "hey it's only 6pm!" so you get up and do something. These days in the fall when the daylight is changing crazy amounts from day to day is weird, add in daylight savings time ending and it's more so.

I have like 4 tattoos planned (mostly random Greek letters that could mean anything to others), but way too much higher priority stuff.

I feel like I do need to get that wavefunction tattoo. Like, it's my thing. Smiley: mad

Also, somewhat related to wavefunctions, I've been trying to find someone at my university to discuss gauge theory with. The mathematicians don't know much about it that is in any way comprehensible and related to physical interpretations (beyond basic Newtonian mechanics) and the physicists don't seem to get the maths or are otherwise extremely elusive. I need to learn gauge theory before I start the relativistic fancy quantum stuff so I can get a good grade in that because I'm still under the illusion that I have a chance of getting into the best solid state physics institute in the world next year.

My boyfriend is a bit on the hairy side too. He just keeps his arms shaved so people can see his arm band tattoo (not a douchebag tribal, it's Eguptian). Even during winter when it's covered up. Sometimes I think he uses it as an excuse to shave his arms because he doesn't like being hairy.

My abstract algebra professor has an arm band tattoo.

And really muscular arms.

And really nice handwriting?

There was a guy in my high school who did that. Shaved his legs and arms because he was extremely hairy and didn't like how he looked (really he made the right choice, imo). Of course he was also a big tight end on the football team so thankfully it wasn't like anyone was going to make fun of him for it.

Yeah, and my man is pretty metro. Thankfully our friends are pretty open minded. The only person who teases him about it is one of his little brothers, and that guy is just an ignorant moron. Yup, shaving your arms totally makes you gay. Even when you're in a poly relationship with two women, whom you live with.

I once met a guy who has really coarse stubble on his hands. Not so nice.

Shave regularly, if at all.

Okay, that's cringe worthy. Hand stubble...

Eww.

OMGOMGOMG Speed skating Smiley: inlove

New world record on the women's 500m, not exactly unexpected since Sang Hwa Lee is in top shape and broke her own world record last week and today again, bringing it to 36.57 seconds (while only 4 women have ever broken past 37.00, 2 of whom did it for the first time today).

No new world record for the men because that damn Canadian set it at 34.03 a couple years ago but with the top 3 at 34.258, 34.258 and 34.26 it was bloody exciting anyway.

Yes, it's one of the best sports ever.

Also, why do the Danish suck at that? Every single country (except for Scotland) around you is a big name in speed skating, although the Swedish have disappeared in the last decade. Norwegians: good at speed skating, Finnish: good at speed skating, Germans: good at speed skating, Dutch: good at speed skating, Swedish: used to be good at speed skating, Danish: ???

You're worse than the French at a winter sport. How is that possible?

Why not a gaming one? Embrace your inner nerd. There's always the classic 20-sided die. Though it's a bit overdone, if you ask me.

I get so irritated playing Garrosh in Hearthstone.

Especially when he's all "Heh, greetings."

What is that Heh, Garrosh? What is wrong with you?

Ever seen a Danish winter?
