I made spiced chocolate biscotti, which came out better than I expected. Quite pleased with them.

They weren't difficult enough for me to mind making them for special occasions, but annoying enough that I wouldn't make them just because I was craving them. Which is pretty much perfect. Smiley: grin

My family does a brunch. For the past 3-5 years we developed the new tradition of just ordering Chinese for dinner, because cooking is too much effort when everyone is in a brunch coma...

New York roast baked medium rare, and mashed fauxtatoes (cauliflower, garlic, butter, cream cheese and ground pepper). It was super yummy!

They were good, yeah. Chocolate spices were cinnamon and cayenne (and almond extract). I think I'd reduce the cayenne some, and add a different chili, next time. That way I get the same heat but a little more flavor? Or maybe just add a little bit of nutmeg or clove?

Not sure, were still quite tasty. And a decent heat to them.

Give recipe please.

Also, the best is yet to come for me as far as Christmas food goes. At least as long as I don't ***** up. Smiley: lol

One of the first results on google, and really quite basic. Hard to mess up, exactly how I like it for something I was baking at 6 a.m. Smiley: grin

I didn't use chocolate chips (and I don't think it needed them). I think their recipe is off with the flour for the vanilla portion, though, and it doesn't list the 2 tablespoons of baking powder that the vanilla needs.

I didn't mean it in a LMGTFY sort of way, I meant it to express how little time I spent looking for this recipe. Smiley: lol

Those look good digg. I just emailed the recipe to my sister and told her she needs to make them.

Aeth - I picked up some Dogfish Head 60 Minute for our Christmas Eve get together. I was ambivalent about it, but most everyone who tried it enjoyed it. My brother-in-law was looking for the Raison D'Etre I had last year though.

I've never had 60 minutes, very few DFH beers ever make it here and when they do they're outrageously expensive.

I could go for biscotti, but getting vin santo is pretty troublesome for just a midnight snack.

You live in NYC, isn't everything available 24/7?

I was more considering the price more than availability. $40ish for a bottle just for a whim snack is excessive.

You must have been terribly bored.

Also, food was a big success and the place I ordered my meat from delivered twice as much duck as I wanted but since I paid ahead of time that's a lot of free duck to me, yay!

I'm imagining you sitting in a room at a giant desk with at least three giant monitors and there are two R2D2-type droids spinning about around the room barking out data and information while a dozen roomba-sized security droids spin all over the place zapping anything that moves, especially spiders, with lasers.

C'mon, how far off am I, really?

Well, I didn't have my laptop hooked up to a second monitor. I mostly spent the day playing Pokemon while refreshing various pages on the internet and getting really angry that they were taking forever and then would only load half the pages...

It figures the internet would be bad today, since I actually had the desire to log into TOR. Smiley: glare

I'm watching speed skating at the moment, the qualification tournament for the Olympics is on so it's exciting and I don't have to get up from my chair as it's all streamed online.
