Typical shounen made me look up to see where Bleach is. Glad to know that it developed in the most predictable way possible.

To be fair, I only looked up Ichigo. But seriously. Quincy and noble Shinigami make Ichigo. Most predictable plot development possible.

I may work for an alcohol and addictions research center, but that is still generally frowned upon.
I can already see you sitting behind your desk, drunk as all hell and when your boss asks you what the **** you think you're doing you just yell at him "I'm do.. 'm doin' researsh! ...hic!"

Unfortunately, I don't think that would fly, since I'm not in one of the labs. Smiley: lol I'm in the unit that handles outreach and such.

I have an informational meeting about the publishing industry tomorrow, and I'm really excited for it. Growing up is weird.

I've grown to dread meetings, but thankfully a good 75% of them are generally in a room with my other coworkers over speaker phone with the higher ups so I spend most of my time half listening and reading comics on my PSP.

Never enough until your heart explodes out of your chest and completes a 25k.

As far as Shingeki no Kyojin / Attack on Titan, it's pretty much standard shounen. The manga started off okay, but it's devolved into the standard power creep, where certain abilities start off rare and then suddenly it's rare when people don't have said certain abilities.

I think the anime is still good because we haven't gotten to that point. It's revealed that the main character can become a Titan, and implied that the reason behind that is that his father did some intense experimentation on him, but they only just revealed one other character who can become a titan in the most recent episode, and so far she's the only one other than the main character with that ability. They've mentioned that it's possible there are up to two others out there, but only briefly, and it hasn't gotten to the point that anyone can do it yet. So, it's not Bleach.

Maybe it's because the anime is still early and it hasn't devolved like the manga has just yet, but I'm certainly enjoying this anime more than I have any other in a long time. The show is going to go on hiatus soon, though, to give the manga time to get further ahead, so I'll probably end up switching to the manga then.

Also, skål!

Ironically, I had a meeting today for a project I'm peripherally involved in. A whole lot of alpha personalities in one room, discussing something that barely involves me. A whole lot of wasted time, and a headache.

And I can still be excited for my meeting tomorrow because it's not for work and, therefore, has no potential to make my life harder.

Can't slyly use your phone in a 10-person meeting that's not actually around a table.

There weren't. :( And none of the people seemed terribly interesting. Three were coworkers, and most of the stuff they were talking about was way over my head to begin with.

Meetings are just there to slow the pace of your work to the point your boss can keep up with what you're doing.

Because my boss wanted me to sit in on a meeting to get a better idea of the project so I could better support the project.

But all it did was give me information about stuff I didn't need information about.

They were essentially spending the entire time discussing internal procedures for the collection of data in the project. Which is, obviously, important. But it makes literally no difference from where I stand and what my minimal relation to the project would be.

I seems a good thing to me that you're being sent to meetings like this. Your boss must have plans for you and wants you exposed to other people above your level in the organization. You don't always tell people you have plans for them because it tends to breed prima donne.

On the other hand, your boss could just have wanted to stay in his/her office and browse reddit . . .

(third option - she/he couldn't go themselves and needed someone innocuous there as a spy)

Damn weather keeps changing on me. Gave me a sore throat, but I used Barney's 'Mind over body' technique to make myself well enough to go to work today. Smiley: lol
