Is anybody interested in Best-in-Slot lists for death knights and rogues for the first tier of MoP raiding?

I probably would be interested for rogues. Though I won't be getting MoP until a week or two after release =)

Unfortunately it's for Assassination since I don't know the stat weights for Combat yet.

And why haven't you looked me up on Fenris yet? I'm feeling VERY unloved, you know?

Edit: Ghost edit to check new sig.

I haven't played in over a month =( Once I renew my sub in a few weeks or so, I'll definitely add ya! You need to give me your toon's name so I can! I need to keep Theo company when MoP comes out, so you're welcome to join lol

Assassination is my OS. I still haven't really played around with it much even with the spec changes, but it'll still be nice. For the most part, the stat weights should be somewhat similar, iirc, for the specs.

Editing because you're editing and you're already giving the name to me =P

Yeah, I'll definitely add ya when I get reactivated!

Rock on, dude. Someone's gotta make a Death Knight guide. I hear you have three of those suckers. Death Knights, I mean, not guides. Wanna make the guide? Great, you're the man. Okay, gotta go. Later.

I didn't transfer any characters over, just rolled a new DK. I'm only 69 right now, but I'm hoping to be 85 by or shortly after MoP hits.

My character name is Requïem. The I is Ascii code alt-139 instead of the normal I.

I actually found an awesome guild full of some awesome people who have been very helpful. One of them gave me the 450g for Flying Training and Flight Master's License. Another guy has been farming Outland and Northrend with me to help me get the ore to level my JC.

And I've named my DKs Requiem since I rolled my first one. Normally, if Requiem (spelled normally) is taking, I go with Requiemme (since the characters are all female), but this time I wanted the normal Requiem so I used the ascii code for the I. I always thought Requiem was a **** name for a DK, since a requiem is a dirge for the dead.

And no, I'm not stalking you. Should I start?

Yeah the guild is Requiem of Spirits all thanks to Zelda lol

Anywho, which guild did you join? I may know some of the people. For the most part, you can find some awesome people on Fenris that are willing to help, then you have your usual trollers and noobs. But you get past that quickly when you find a good group of people to play with.

I just posted in the original thread of yours about starting back up, so no, you don't have to start stalking lol.

Death Rider. I also needed someone to prospect some ore for me cause my JC wasn't high enough and some guy not even in my guild offered to do it free of charge despite the fact that I offered to tip in my trade channel post. I am really loving this server and battlegroup.

It's a level 25 guild so it has to have been around for a while. It's only got about 20 or 30 active players out of 220 or so in the guild, but everybody is friendly and helpful.

Yeah, Fenris is actually a pretty great server. I've met some pretty cool people in addition to the random retards that are on every server.

I may have to see about changing guilds after I hit exalted and get the lion mount with my current guild. My current guild isn't very active at all (only usually one or two people on) and they don't tolerate profanity or any kind of suggestive guild chat, so I basically can't say anything. Smiley: lol

If you two want, I can talk with one of my friends that's in a pretty active guild, both pvp and pve wise from what I remember. I used to be in the guild til I made my own because I couldn't commit to raiding like I used to. But perhaps we can all join one guild together.

To be honest, the guys in Death Rider have done so much for me I woulf feel bad about leaving. I can get both of you in there and maybe the 3 of us can spark some interest in PVP and some casual raiding. There are a lot of people on the roster and I'm guessing the activity will spike next Tuesday. Overall it's a nice little guild. Not so big where you get lost and not so small where you get lonely.

I will definitely be PvPing, whether I'm helping Noc get better at running rogue/rogue (or if she wants to run a different toon), boosting guild mates, or running hardcore at 2k+ (unlikely that I'll have the time for that), it remains to be seen.

I'd also like to do at least a little bit of PvE, because I've said that every expansion since TBC, and TBC was the last expansion that I really raided in. Heroics and such, definitely on my radar because of talent simplification; raiding, we'll have to see because of time constraints.

How is the comp of rogue/resto/DK? It shouldn't be too long after launch that my DK is 90 and I'll definitely be grinding BGs. I also want to do some light raiding. I'd prefer to get a consistent 10-man group together, but if I have to do LFR I will. I told Noc I wouldn't have a problem going Blood for PVE if she wants to PVE on her resto.

It's completely up to you. I won't be playing seriously (or else that involves a ton of time spent practicing timing, peeling, and LOS, which isn't fun and none of us want), so it's basically whatever is the most fun.

Resto/rogue/DK can probably work (especially up to 1800 or so, we can probably duo it because everyone is so bad) and would probably be super hectic but a lot of fun. I should probably start practicing with Sub, since I think that will work best for that comp (but maybe Vendetta burst with Heroism would work better?).

In any case, I'd love to do some PvE, even if it's just buttloads of heroics.

What spec you recommend for my DK for that comp? I've almost always played Frost, but neither of the other playstyles is difficult.

DK will probably be best as unholy, though I'd have to check what a majority of DKs are using for PvP. Main thing is you want interrupts and stuns to put pressure on a healer.

Whatever gives you the most stuns and interrupts/silences will be the best spec.

Yeah I think by the time I can get back on, and you getting to 90 (which I'll need to do as well when I get back) we should be able to figure out what sort of time would be best for all of us since I know we're all busy with life and all lol

I don't think either spec has more interrupts or stuns and Frost has the most burst right now. I was reading up last night and people are saying 2h Frost with gear reforged for haste and crit is the way to go. I'll look into it some more, though.

So I've been reading AJ for the past half hour, and from what I gather, most DKs are going Unholy for arena.

Basically, I'd spec like this.

Tier 1: Plague Leech on the first tier may be more useful in our setup as it'll let you purge your diseases from a target if they're going to get CCed, but I think Unholy Blight will be more useful for now until we see how the synergies lie.

Tier 2: Purgatory is like a more awesome version of Cheat Death. 'Nuff said. May want to switch to AMZ at some point if we're getting nuked to **** my magic teams, but I think that's what Smoke Bomb will be used for.

Tier 3: Asphyxiate. Holy **** 1 min Strangulate?! Done.

Tier 4: Death Pact. Holy **** this is WAY more useful than it used to be.

Tier 5: Runic Corruption, I don't know about the mechanics, but all of the DKs are taking it so meh.

Tier 6: Desecrated Ground is one of the best abilities ever in PvP.

Glyphs: IT is definitely required, as it's amazing. Simulacrum is great for Unholy, and DC is pretty sweet and will help, especially if Noc gets in trouble. Minors you can choose, they don't make a difference.

So yeah. There's some room to play, but that's basically what I'd roll with in PvP.

Unholy is actually the easiest spec, IMO. You just have to learn how to use your pet effectively. Chains of Ice will be how you apply FF in PvP, and PS will be how you apply BP, same as normal.

Death Coils are your RP dump, but they also provide an added function: every 5 Death Coils allows you to use Dark Transformation on your Ghoul. You also have Sudden Doom, which gives you free Death Coils (no RP cost) every once in a while.

Normally I would say go with Chilblains, but since I'll have Crippling Poison and CoI provides a snare, I think Asphyxiate is much better. You'll likely be chaining Asphyxiate off of my CC or Noc's Hex on a healer, giving us some extra time to burst down a target. Having a one minute cooldown on a 5 sec silence is pretty amazing.

It's true. I've got some time today to start looking up some PvP healer stuff. I currently have ele as an OS, but I usually heal anyway in PvE, so I'll just make my OS a PvP Heals OS. Will post what I find and see what you guys think.

I thought that was the obvious macro to make.

It'd also be funny as **** in arena if you start spamming the macro trying to get it to work.

lol "For the love of all things good, we KNOW!"

I've been playing with the calc for a heal spec and am a bit torn on what to choose in the 30 tier - http://www.wowhead.com/talent#sy]E| . Windwalk seems pretty good for us when we're stunned and using it with spiritwalk may be good especially if I'm low on health, but then again something like Frozen Power would be good for me to offer more abilities to stop the other player.

The shaman talents were the hardest to decipher for me, but that may just be because I haven't played a shaman since the end of BC.

So i'm looking at this kind of spec for PVP?

Death Pact is pretty much a must for Unholy PvP (since you have a perma-ghoul). Being able to get a few Death Pacts per match is pretty ridiculous since it looks like it may not be affected by things like Wound Poison, MS, etc.

For a resto shaman, I would personally do this (keep in mind I've just played with shamans and seen them played, I've never actually played one).

Tier 1: Nature's Guardian vs Astral Shift is a tough one. Generally you want to avoid any talents that give you a totem with a cooldown, as it's incredibly easy to tab-target to a totem and kill it. Nature's Guardian is useful because it gives you an extra 25% health for 10 secs, allowing you an "oh **** moment while you heal yourself. The 30 sec cooldown doesn't hurt either.

Tier 2: Earthgrab Totem is absolutely insane. 5 sec root and then automatic application of a 50% snare? It's basically a hunter's Frost Trap. Drop that on a pillar and kite all day.

Tier 3: Earthgrab Totem makes Totemic Restoration a great talent. Reducing your cooldowns of essential totems (Mana Tide especially for Priest match ups) when they're destroyed will help a lot. Totemic Projection is also a possibility, but I like it a lot less as it requires micro-managing your totems. As a shaman healer, your best ability is going to be sitting on a LOS object as much as possible and just kiting scrubs around it, and Projection is more for mobility.

Tier 4: Ancestral Swiftness vs Echo of the Elements is a toss up. I think I'd personally prefer EotE because it's free healing (and can provide burst healing), but without knowing it's proc rate, it's tough to judge. On top of that, it's hard to pass up an insta-heal (especially if you combine that with an Unleashed Element heal).

Tier 5: Ancestral Guidance is basically splash healing that you don't have to think about. Again, can be paired with Ancestral Swiftness and an Unleashed Elements heal for one massive heal and one that's 40% of that, basically allowing you to top two people off.

Tier 6: Unleashed Fury adds to the "oh **** heals you've got, basically using a small instant heal followed by your biggest heal instant casted at 50% increased healing done. That in turn has 40% of that total splashed onto another target.

It will definitely require some playing around with and experience (along with some personal preference) but this looks pretty solid.

Understandable. And I agree that it'll definitely get some playing around with til we find the best to use. I'll try what you've linked first whenever I can get on. Still trying to do some reading on AJ on advice as a pvp healer

The worst part is that for a healer, what's best in BGs isn't necessarily going to be the best for arena, so you may end up changing a point or two moving between the two.

Luckily Blizzard made changing a point or two exceptionally easy (and cheap), so it shouldn't be a big deal.

Yeah, I think that's one of the best things they implemented with the talent tree changes.

Seeing as I've been back for a couple of weeks now and I haven't seen Theo on a single time yet, I'm thinking it's going to be difficult for us to find time when we can all be online.

What time zone are you two in?

I'm central and when I play it's from 7 pm until 11 pm at night (not every night) and every other weekend.

My times kind of vary. For instance, I'm online right now.

Truth be told though, I wasn't online much leading up to MoP because there wasn't anything for me to do. I'll generally be online when I'm home now that it's out.

Theo is pacific I believe and I'm eastern. I just saw him online as well, so I think it's doable, just a matter of finding what's easier for you two =)

Noc (and actually anyone that wants to do arena), this should be a required read. It's meant for healers, but a lot of it can be applied to anyone in arena.

Especially note if you're a melee and you have a bad habit of tunnel vision, break it. I used to do this a ton in TBC, but I broke the habit by playing on a 5s team where I was calling switches and CC.

Also, something not talked about much, but don't have a push-to-talk key if you're using vent. Use your mic mute if you need to talk to someone IRL.
