What are you talking about, Austin is amazing.
You've obviously never been anywhere decent, then.
I'm sorry.
I don't really like Texas. It's really rare to find a normal person in Texas.
You have to remember that I'm from Chicago and I live in Seattle, which are two of the greatest cities known to man.
You must have a pretty warped definition of normal, because they're pretty common. But then again, your first mistake was looking to Austin for normal. When they say "keep Austin weird," they're not exaggerating.
Also, Chicago and Seattle, two of the greatest cities? Going to have to respectfully disagree there - but hey, this whole thing is subjective, anyways.
What cities would you put ahead of them? Major metropolitan areas, to be clear. San Diego, New York and San Francisco would all be up there, but then you need to go to Europe and Canada.
I honestly can't think of a city in the USA that I would rather visit than Seattle or Chicago, especially during the summer for Seattle. I've been to literally every major city in the US (and every state) and none have impressed me as much as Seattle.
