Healy trinketFollow

So I'm trying to figure out what trinkets are good for me as a resto druid. Mr. Robot claims that the alchemist trinket isn't any good compared to some of the others. I have a hard time accepting this since haste is our best secondary stat, and it has more intellect than the other 359 trinkets. The other trinket I have is the JP healer trinket. I've been thinking of investing in the DMC trinket too, but I'm not sure which trinket would be better to replace? I've been having a hard time finding some concrete evidence of which 359 trinkets are best. Anyone have any thoughts?

Are you using the default stat weights?

Mr. Robot values haste pretty little after 12.5% and is big on spirit. Assuming you're fine with your mana pool I arbitrarily removed the haste cap and lowered spirit to 55. The DMC and Fall of Mortality were the best 359s at that point, and the difference between the trinkets a lot less pronounced.

It still seems to support putting the DMC over the Core of Ripeness, but I suppose that depends on how you feel having a stacking buff versus a "on use" ability; not that 'on use' mana regen is amazing or anything. My gut says it's devaluing the Alchemist Stone a little. I don't know what it's assumptions are about the +40% buff to your mana potions. I have a feeling it's one of those 'encounter length' kind of things, that's probably hidden from view.

If you have the cash/cards it seems the DMC is likely a decent upgrade over either one; likely more-so over the alchemist trinket in longer fights. Though maybe not enough to really justify the cost in my mind at least.

Anyway, here's your grain of salt, since I'm not seriously playing my druid anymore. Smiley: smile

According to EJ's, Mastery and crit are both superior to haste if you aren't near the haste break points. Most of the time if you can hit 2005 haste it is well worth it to get an extra tick of WG & efflorescence. If not, then it is probably worth reforging back to 916 haste where you get your 5th tick of rejuv (all assuming you have the 5% haste buff).

From EJs Resto Thread :-
Quote:
Outside of haste breakpoints, your basic choice is between throughput stats (mastery and crit) and regen (Spirit). When it's not getting you extra HoT ticks, haste is your weakest stat since it doesn't benefit Rejuv and increases your mana consumption.

These points are a little more murky if you are doing 10mans as you end up casting a wider variety of spells than just rejuv, WG & lifebloom. This generally means that the haste will be worth a bit more due to its effect on HT, Regrowth & Nourish. Also, it often comes down to your healing style, so your mileage may vary :)

The Alchy trinket is fantastic for 2 reasons (1) With a red gem it gives you 30 Int more than any other 359 trinket! (2) It is one of only two 359 trinket with throughput stats (the other is the JP trinket, Soul Casket)- if you find yourself not having mana problems then the spirit/mana gain on the other trinkets is wasted. The other 359 trinkets are all pretty similar in strength and probably come down to personal preference. If I was an alchemist I would use the stone & the JP spirit trinket - the second purely because it is easy and cheap to get :)

Thanks guys. Yeah I forgot about only wanting haste to reach break points. I'm used to my shadow priest, who can benefit from haste even outside of extra DoT ticks. I would still like to get the DMC trinket at some point in the near future, but I won't stress about it too much.
