Who has healed this fight?

Tried heal it today, my mana coming out of P1 was too random. Sometimes was high sometimes was shit

Mana in P2 was either brutal or not an issue, had the 4 folks platform. Never did enough of P3 to make a real assessment of that phase.

What spec were you healing as? I've only ever done it as Holy.

You're right about mana being random by the end of Phase 1. It really all depends on avoidable damage with your raid. Are constructs getting CC'd properly? Are tanks not letting the raid get electrocuted/tail swiped? Etc.

For Phase 2, I really recommend cooldowns. If you're Holy, put down as Lightwell ASAP at the beginning of the fight, that way it should be available again at the beginning of Phase 2. Putting a Lightwell on the pillar and just keeping renews rolling with Chakra: Serenity is usually enough for me.

for Disc in phase 2, I'd probably recommend using Barrier on a big AoE Electrocute (the one that happens every 10%) and Shield + Atonement healing to keep everyone up.

Phase 3 really depends on just a few things. How well can you kite, and can you avoid the annoyingly hard to see fire?

The big thing in this fight is avoidable damage.

Same here, holy, and mana variable at the end of phase 1. Only ever healed the Onyxia tank and the 1 dps assigned to Onyxia (with the odd shield / heal on the kiter). I try to heal as efficiently as possible, though the Onyxia tank's health may dip low at times there is time to heal up using serenity and greater heals - unless the 10% electrocute is coming in. My other half (resto druid) heals the Nef tank and says healing the tank efficiently is usually fine in P1.

Phase 2. PoM shines! Renew, serenity, binding heal.

Phase 3 - I'm with the main Nef tank and raid, switch chakra to sanctuary. It's the kiter healer that has the hard time here and other healers should do what they can to help when in range. After an electrocute, get the raid's health up a bit and look after the tanks, there is no immediate rush to get the raid's health up to full - but obviously everyone needs to be at full health before the next electrocute.

I don't have much experience in the Nefarian fight, but from what I've seen, if your tank is competent, no one should be taking damage from electrocute anyways. It's quite possible to place Ony so that the electrocute doesn't hit anybody.

You're probably thinking of a different mechanic.

Onyxia does a lightning thing which your tank has to position so that it misses the raid, you're right. But Electrocute is a big AoE that Nefarian does every 10%. It's roughly 100k damage per person, and everyone needs to be at full when he does it. Cooldowns (such as PW:B) are extremely useful for that.

That's why its extremely important that you have everyone topped off before pushing into the next 10%.

Oh, whoops. =x See, this is why I qualified my post with me not having much experience in the fight. That way if I say something stupid, people know why.

:-) not stupid, Onyxia's lightning thing does look like it should be called electrocute!
