It's my understanding that the crafting profession have been more or less normalized to give the same amount of bonus stats, so the profession choice probably isn't so important. I don't have any 'warrior-specific' knowledge though. Also, the wild card, of course, is Engineering.

As for the other question:

The difference is probably close enough not to matter. You'll likely have to sim/spreadsheet yourself when you reach the cap, or go with whatever you prefer.

They're pretty equal. If you're PVPing and DPSing, I'd stay away from gathering professions (like someproteinguy implied).

The biggest difference I know of is that SMF has a more limited pile of weapons to pick from. If you're in heroic modes, I think you're basically waiting for 2x heroic Lava Spines, which depending on your luck could take a while to drop. Max theoretical DPS isn't a big consideration in SMF vs. TG because it's really close, and which one is better has fluctuated based on the patch and on gear level.

oh and as far as "heroic modes" go.the only raiding i plan on doing with this character is heroics,my server sucks for pugging raids

If you're just doing heroics, you might even want to consider going Arms for your PVE spec. It puts out fairly beastly DPS (I used to do an average of about 17-18k DPS as Arms in heroics wearing mostly blues with a few rep epics).

ya,i kinda made a rogue instead.i did a bg and got smashed the entire time,im wondering if its cuz warriors suck without healers in pvp(i always pvp solo)or if it was because i didnt have any boas going up against people in probably full boas.if thats the case i dont know,i might end up goin back to my warrior instead of lvlin my rogue

If you're PVPing solo as any class in a BG, you're playing very sub-optimally. If you're playing a low level bracket without any BoAs you're likely going to get smashed. If you're doing both, may God have mercy on your soul.

As far as low level PVPing goes on Warrior, I haven't done it in a while, but you are extremely vulnerable to getting kited until you get some more mobility tools.

Actually just managed to pick up (normal) 2x Lava Spines last night from our Magmaw kill, since they're offspec and no one else wanted them ... I think I'm going to try out SMF for a while and let you know how it goes. :)

I've been raiding offspec as Arms, which is good for a number of fights (was #2 dmg done on one of the Nef 25 kills I was on), but isn't nearly as strong for the ones I'm more likely to be DPSing current (Al'Akir, Artramades, possibly Ascendant Council). Al'Akir and Artramades particularly suffer. Al'Akir because we have (had) the melee attacking from near the front in P2 and parries cause Lambs to drop off, and Artramades because I lack the burst DPS CD that Fury has, and have to waste a bunch of time rebuilding Lambs after the air phase.
