Hey guys. The last couple weeks i've been leveling a priest mainly through healing in dungeons and have been enjoying it alot. I'm level 66 now and wanna take a break from healing for a while and quest/dungeon as shadow. I am wondering what type of rotation to use in dungeons to conserve mana until I get dispersion in a few levels(69 I believe) and also which rotation will provide the best damage(because the mobs drop so fast nowadays). Thanks in advance for any advice.

See here. Also, read Fish's posts later down in that thread as well.

I'd recommend something like this for leveling. It's basically grabbing all the utility talents you can. Shorter cooldowns, fun new effects, and survivability. Like you said, things are dropping pretty fast at this point, so more damage doesn't do much for you when things don't last long anyways.

Mind Spike will be your best friend when you get it at 81. I often found it was more mana efficient to Mind Spike and Blast down single mobs while leveling than to actually DoT them up.

Until then, I'd just recommend VT and SW:P, then Flay and Blast. Basically, the usual, but I would avoid using the mana hog that is DP while leveling. Use it if you're fighting more than one thing at a time or something, but not single target.

Just my two cents. Honestly, it's pretty hard to go wrong while leveling, so almost anything you want to do will work, even if it's radically different from what I said.

I notice a lot of Priests don't understand that you get mana back from casting shadow word death, when I read the talents in the shadow tree I instantly knew that this was the cure to the mana problems I was having up to this point ;0}
