How to level... hmmm...Follow

My baby druid is at 32, and he's had a talent point just sitting there for the past level and a half, because I can't decide what to put it in. :(

Right now, he's a kitty, so I grabbed the speed buff (naturally), and furor (naturally).
Next tier, Fury Swipes and Feral Aggression. Finally Feral charge.

Now... meh?

Besides Leader of the Pack, there isn't really anything I care about for a while. :( Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of great talents I can nab. The problem is that they're irrelevant right now--I do so much damage that nearly everything is dead in a rake, a mangle or two and ferocious bite. Don't need more CP from crits, because FB is mostly overkill as it is. Don't need more armor, because everything is dead long before I am. I'm not ravaging anything, I never have to heal after fights, no need for infected wounds, I never even use Tiger's Fury or Skull Bash--just no need.

:/

So I'm thinking of maybe going boomkin instead--just to make leveling more exciting. I have the set of SP heirlooms as well, after all. And there are fun toys at each tier. :P And by toys I mean "things that'll be fun to use even though I kill stuff just as fast LOL"

Of course, I'll lose my speed buff whenever I'm inside. :(

Decisions, decisions.

Things might be more interesting when I hit 36 and can start tanking dungeons (due to getting Swipe, finally). But for now...

This thread doesn't have a point, actually. I'm just avoiding work.

So I'll give it one! Why does Balance get all the fun toys?!?!?! What is up with that!?!?!

Treants, conjuring storms, turning into a moon chicken, bulba-bulba beams, exploding mushrooms, thorns, summoning beams of moon and sun fire, capturing your foe with roots grown out of the ground, causing meteor showers...

Cat's go rawr and bears go "AoE--crap." And they don't even get to Nom Nom Nom anymore. >:(

Feral needs toys!!! They should be able to summon other bears/cats for a short while or something! At the very least, let them use thorns while shifted!

That is all.

Don't hold your breath for level 36. I hear Druid tanking sucks until 66 where you finally get Lacerate. Until then it's Mangle, Swipe and Maul, all on cooldowns. And that's for single target fights as well.

If you stick to the Feral tree, get the Primal Fury and/or Leader of the Pack buffs. +5% crit, self-healing without changing and double combo points on crits are sweet abilities to have, especially if you do some dungeons.

Or you can go Boomkin, but I found it to be equally mind-numbing. Moonfire, Starsurge, Wrath, loot. Repeat ad nauseam.

Maybe I should switch out the BoA weps for something else, to try and make it more interesting. :/

Level up in Battlegrounds then and whenever you come across a Frost Mage, pretend that you can't shift out of their roots.

I'm starting a new druid myself. Decided that paying to server-transfer and faction-change wasn't worth it, and for the same amount of money I could just level a character to the cap, and get to see what's changed on the horde side as a bonus.

Anyway it's going to be resto with a boomkin offspec. My love of feral has diminished as of late. Also typhooning someone back under a solarbeam sounds like fun, the redesigned thorns is good stuff too.

lol

Unfortunately, ALL the mages are Frost mages while leveling. Just too much good there not to, unless you REALLY love fire.

Luckily, I've sworn off BGs for a while. I hope that the 40-49 bracket will finally have some semblance of balance in it--that's when I'll try again. As long as I'm not getting frickin' 1-3 shotted, I'm willing to try.

Though I can tell that feral PvP just isn't for me. I don't like feeling constrained by energy, and I am hardcore missing my DK's utility spells. Strangulate+Chains of Ice+Mind Freeze, why did you leave me? T.T

And having NO ranged options just isn't fun after you get used to playing a Mage/DK, lol.

I still miss the old one, but I'll admit the new one is far more useful. I just really loved the old thorns.

I certainly didn't mind the old version of it either, but now it's like you can actually feel it doing something. Glyph it for 80% up-time, cast it on your tank, and help with the aggro problems. Smiley: thumbsup

You've never had a tank with aggro problems? Smiley: dubious

Edit: I mean it doesn't fix stupid, but if he/she is a little under-geared it can help...

Wouldn't worry; I've barely slept the last 2 nights so humor doesn't sink in before coffee. Smiley: rolleyes

Wait, so the Starsurge tooltip lies!?!?

Because am I wrong, but when I have a solar eclipse proc, wouldn't SS be more useful if it was extending the amount of time I was in the eclipse state? Instead, it gives the opposite. :/

I do not approve. >:(

Ah, nvm, I see. It's because they changed it from beta--you used to be able to gain power even when eclipsed.

Lol, my internet has been hating Zam lately for some reason. Half my edits just...don't happen, which means I have to redo them.

So if it's acting up, I just make a new post instead. No clue why they are working differently.

The +1 effect is a nice little addition. :D

If I didn't edit, people would never read my posts. They'd be full of bad grammar with like 5 extra meaningless posts after them. Let's just say I delete a lot of the extra "edited on" lines. If I didn't edit my posts would look like this:

Edited, Mar 2nd 2011 8:41am by someproteinguy

Edited, Mar 2nd 2011 8:41am by someproteinguy

Edited, Mar 2nd 2011 8:41am by someproteinguy

and I don't really like how that looks either... Smiley: frown

If you spent a tenth of the time you use to edit to post new things, you'd be in the top 250.
