DW frost wants slow/slow for their weapons right?

Would that make 2x Cookie's Tenderizer the best pre-raid weapons for a DW frost DK?

Yes, you want slow/slow. Your strikes are based on a percentage of the combined total weapon damage. Slower weapons generally hit harder. (If they don't, then their DpS is WAY lower than the fast weapon). So, unless the average damage of a faster weapon is higher, stick with the slow weapon.

And I'm thinking Cookie's Tenderizer is the best Heroic dungeon weapon avaialble for DW Frost, but I just looked at a list of weapons on WoWhead with a H dungeon and speed >2.5 filter. It may have left something out. Or there may be something with super optimal stats.

As it stands, EJ seems to be telling me that you should reforge the mastery off of the tenderizer in favor of expertise (assuming you won't cap it early).

I picked that one specifically because it was hit/mastery and for DW frost mastery is the 3rd best secondary stat. I haven't even looked into anything else yet, just wanted to make sure that slow/slow was best for DW frost as I levelled as 2h frost.

Since DKs are primarily a strike based class, you always want the highest average damage weapon. It's rare for stats to ever make up for that, and they are almost always the slowest weapons.

Oblit and FS should be your two highest damage sources, with auto-attacks as a third.

Yes cookie's maces are pre-raiding BiS. I think the elitist jerks website, in the frost dps post, has a full list of pre-raiding BiS gear, as well as every other BiS set you might want to see for frost.

This post was more to confirm the Slow/Slow than to ask about a particular weapon.

I am in the serious pre-planning stages anyway, seeing as my DK is currently only level 72. I'm just seriously OCD about planning out what instances I have to run to get gear and what reps I need and such.

Heck, at this point I should be more concerned with which weapon I need to get ready for raids. But I've figured out that's probably Sun Strike from HoO.

I have a complete list of what appears to be BiS for pre-Heroics if anybody wants me to list it. And i can include weapons for DW or 2h.

DW and 2H favor different stats so would be two separate lists. As 2H loves haste and mastery while DW loves crit and haste. Both need hit/expertise at least.

But I loves me some haste/mastery gear for my 2H set up.

Actually, other than the amount of hit you get, it is looking like the 2 specs are about the same now on secondary stats.

There is a lot of stuff going around about hit to the hard hit cap being best secondary stat for DW followed by Haste and then Mastery.

Neither spec really cares much about crit since they get so many auto-crits.

I actually prefer the dual-wield playstyle, which is annoying, because a Death Knight should be wielding a sword, not two clubs or whatever.

It's the GCD reduction and emphasis on Frost Strike I don't like so much. I keep forgetting to dump my runic power and mashing buttons as fast as 2h Frost requires makes my fingers hurt.
