No one else would have made the post like that, that's the point.

And do you REALLY not find his post to be ridiculously degrading? REALLY? Because I 100% disagree with you. Even if anyone else HAD made that post, I'd have the same exact problem with it. The fact that rusttle has a history of doing this has led us to berate him for it. Maybe he'll actually stop making such ridiculous rants that attack his fellow posters. Because, frankly, his original post renders actual conversation about the issues impossible.

I can't imagine someone like Pigtails posting that. Hell, it's hard to even think of a post Theo's made that's even remotely as condescending. He berates idiots who do something to deserve it (usually). Rusttle is making a post on these forums with a holier-than-thou attitude, ordering the rest of the WoW Druids to cease and desist from ninja-ing herbs. To even make the post assumes that some of us are ninjas (I say "us" to mean anyone who visits this forum). I'm not even a Druid and I find the whole thing insulting.

And the thing is, he could have made a similar post without ANY of the degradation built in that could have led to a legitimate discussion of the current state of the racial, being able to act in flight form, and what results from them.

Note the difference:

"You know, I'm not sure that we should be able to loot in flight form, especially with Taurens getting an increased herb time. I can see either the racial or the form (or both) getting nerfed in the future, and that sucks--some bad eggs ruin it for everyone. I would <insert idea for a fix that doesn't suck>."

"Here's a message to many of you druids, 'Yo, assh*les, because you won't stop ninjaing my nodes, we're all going to get nerfed. And it's ALL YOUR FAULT.' So stop messing around, goat boys. This isn't a rant, you just suck."

You REALLY don't think that the second one isn't ridiculous?

[EDIT] ^double negative shame.

No, I don't take offense. It is a post aimed at the druids who are doing this to other players. I am not one of those herbalists, so it isn't aimed at me and so I don't take offense.

If I said some Wow players are bad players and have no idea how the game works would you take offense and abuse me? (I assume you know what you are upto in-game as you hang around here).

Anyway, this will be my last post in this thread. I seem to be only fanning the flames which was certainly not my intention. Just looking to keep this board the friendly place it has been for years.

Same here. Besides most non-druids I come across while herbing are jerk ninjas too...

It's not the herbing that gets me though, the thing I keep being surprised by is the ability to interact with objects while not on the ground. When the quest says "go pick up 10 of these boxes that are scattered in the enemy camp" then you never have to land or engage in combat to do it; it does feel a little unfair.

Then again, it also seems kind of silly to not to make use of an advantage while you have it. Smiley: wink

Not taking offense and feeling a post is offensive aren't mutually exclusive.

I gotta say, this is one of my favorite non combat related things about being a druid. It makes leveling on my mage or any other class vaguely annoying because I CAN'T do that with them. =x

Since cata is actually used to be anyone on a mount, but they seemed to have fixed that since 4.0.6 probably now leaving druids to be the only ones. I know on my hunter in Uldum I could stay mounted for a majority of the gathering items quest but since the patch doing those same quests on my mage results in a dismount.

While we're on the subject of herbing fast, have any of you tried to stumble upon a herb in the middle of nowhere, and just as you're about to herb it, someone else comes in and takes it?

Not talking about Tauren herbalists with their 0.5-second cast or whatever. Just some random dude flying/running/riding up to your herb in the middle of bloody nowhere.

Just had one of these episodes (not the first) in Twilight Highlands. Was chilling some 50 yards above the ground while AFK checking this site. I randomly popped back in to not get auto-disconnected and suddenly I noticed a Cinderbloom had spawned under me. Before I could even fly down to it, some random dude flew up and picked it. The herb that spawned no more than 10 seconds ago.

Surely people don't camp spawn sites (GatherMate2 colors Twilight Highlands purple because of the multiple spawn locations), so what are the odds of some guy flying up to a herb just as it spawns in the middle of nothing?

Not very likely of course. But it could happen.

I recently switched from using gathermate to carbonite for my farming purposes, as much as it pains me to use something that is that big of a resource hog for something as simple as picking flowers, but nothing else I've found is as good as it is. You set up a route for herbing, and follow the arrows and it makes things much less aggravating and less time consuming. Using carbonite on Saturday, I picked more herbs in Twilight Highlands in the spam of about 20 minutes, than I have in the last month in the span of an hour. That's saying something...

Pretty impressive, considering I usually swap between three or four alts while playing. Smiley: tongue

"Waaa, my posts are excellent by default, waaa!"

I keed, I keed.

And Xsarus, it always irritates me when I want to rate an admin up, but can't. You should just add a green arrow, and disable the red arrow. It would be deliciously vain.

I wish I was on the brink of Sage. Because of my post count, my color would probably switch with every post I made.
