Well aware of that quest; done it twice now.

Hmm, I don't know if I have a best pet! I finally went out and tamed some pets more helpful for our raids. And I changed my keybinds around to not be so noob so now I'm trying to learn that with mm for patch tomorrow!

To be honest, I'm not sure I like what they've done with pets. I love that they provide buffs and stuff, but I hate that I have to pick certain pets for certain buffs. For instance, the cat and wolf buffs are priceless if there's no Warrior/Feral/Death Knight in the group, but at the same time, I really prefer to run with a fox.

And it's not like foxes are useless. If you're running 5-mans, they're actually pretty epic, especially if the tank isn't a Death Knight or Warrior. I also realize that it's not as much of an issue in raids, since you're almost guaranteed to cover the buffs with the classes in your group, but I don't raid and it makes me sadface when I have to dismiss Snuggles so I can get 5% crit. I'm gonna make a Worgen Hunter. It's going to hurt to use anything other than my Mastiff (or MAYBE a Gilnean fox).

Then again, it's also going to hurt to take off my top hat and wear a proper helm...

Yeah, but cats are weird...

I prefer how the wolves move while running (plus, the howling is awesome).

What?

I'd just like to add that I'm glad Blizzard put 85 spiders and crabs in Tol Barad Peninsula. Makes it easier to level just one pet knowing I can grab both of those and have all the pets I'll need at 85 (PvE: cat, PvP: spider/crab, PvE elite tanking: crab).

This has next to nothing to do with this thread, so carry on.

Solo tank pet : turtle or scarab, pvp pets: spider/monkey, pve pets: cat, wolf, raptor and whatever else gives significant buffs.

I wouldn't bother with a monkey anymore since they fixed Bad Manner to break on damage. It's a lot less desirable now.

I also have a couple scarabs, but I haven't found the need to use them, especially soloing as BM.

I find that the Spirit Beast's heal on autocast makes him an excellent soloing pet despite being Ferocity. Good damage, good survivability. Still need to keep Mend up of course.

they nerfed monkeys :/

I like ravagers if there are a lot of casters in a bg, otherwise I use my dog.

If I have to tank, I use my scarab.
If I have to wtf tank due to a tank dying or I have to kite Magmaw type adds, I use gorilla.

For dps and added buff I use cat.

Raptor doesn't give a group buff but the ravasaur/devilsaur does.

Raptors provide a bleed debuff which is useful if you don't have a DPS warrior, feral druid, or sub rogue.

I find that even in 10 man, we pretty much have all buffs/debuffs covered. Well, except for that increased spell damage which I started bringing a wind serpent if we are caster heavy.

I find that a spider/crab keeps me covered in most cases.

Probably because I don't PvE!

Slow reply but meh, I didn't know they nerfed monkeys, I'm not that into PvP anyway and with school taking up all my time I haven't played WoW in a while anyway.

Also, for serious tanking nothing beats a scarab/turtle because of the 50% less damage taken cooldown to mitigate bursts of damage. (Oh yeah and spirit beasts are ugly Smiley: tongue)
