1) Press buttons.

2) Things die.

3) Loot.

4) Repeat 1-3.

Theo's advice is sufficient for level 69. He's also a douche to lots of people; don't take it personal.

A less "douche bag" answer: Linky

Quote:
The most basic priority for single targets will be something like this:
1. If your pet is on the target, Kill Command
2. If the mob is going to live long enough, apply Serpent Sting.
3. If mob is below 20% health, Kill Shot
4. If you have enough focus to cast Kill command on CD, Arcane Shot
5. Cobra Shot

In a given 6 second cycle you should be able to fit 1 Kill Command, 1 Arcane Shot and 2 Cobra Shots with any excess time from shortenec casttime going to extra arcane shots over time.

I have no idea if any of that is applicable to a 69 hunter, as this is my hunter (hint: note the gear).

Also there's a couple of stickies... Smiley: wink

Edit: For future reference this would be the kind of question people around here would encourage you to find your own answers to. Seriously, check out some of the links in the stickies as well.

Agree with Theo, there really isn't much of a "rotation" for anyone at level 69. For BM pretty much serpent arcane and kc, and it will usually be dead pretty quickly. For mm, serpent and steady with I believe at 69 having enough points for chimera so you can throw that in there too.

Cobra shot isn't until 81 so it's not relevant to a 69. Who is probably 71+ now if they are leveling.

That wasn't a douchebag answer, it was helpful and to the point.
It's not sugarcoated but if you need to have things sugarcoated and spoonfed to you you're in the wrong forum.

Rotations aren't necessary until you're optimizing your DPS, which doesn't happen until the level cap (i.e. 85).

Thanks for playing.

Marksmanship.

Short version:

Quote:
1) Shortly before combat starts apply HM to the target
2) Shortly before combat starts cast MD on the target’s tank
3) SrS (only if the target will live longer than 12s)
4) CS
5) KS
6) RF
7) Readiness (RD)
8) SS pair (if less than 3 to 4s on the ISS buff)
9) AI (if have a MMM proc)
10) KC (if have a RiF proc or pet is on the target and target is out of LoS)
11) AS (if will have enough focus for CS (focus > 60))
12) SS

I recently dusted off my level 60 hunter. I have run a couple dungeons and am not real happy with my DPS.

My question is do we still need to worry about clipping our auto shot? Back in my hunter days I would cast a special ability between each auto shot. I am not sure with my latency if I am clipping it or not.

Autoshots can't be clipped anymore.
