So I was looking at Elitist Jerks' guide to Unholy dps, and it says to use Death and Decay as top priority in rotation over Scourge Strike. Their reasoning was that it did higher damage even on single targets. That may be, but doesn't it produce a high amount of threat? Or is the threat low enough that it doesn't matter?

I believe that at the moment tank threat is sufficiently high that it won't matter much after the first ten seconds or so of the pull. Right off the bat it might be a bad idea because it is a high threat ability and the tank advice I've seen is to reforge away from hit/exp to avoidance and mastery so the first bit of of the fight can be dicey for zealous dps.

I was under the impression that the use DnD was for Unholy DW and not 2H. As SS hitting only with the MH in a DW setup was what made DnD do more damage than SS.

It make sense damage wise if you look at it in regards to a DW vs 2H set up.

That would make sense. I might have skimmed over the part where they said they were talking about DW Unholy. I will try to use my damage meters to see which does more damage for 2H. Thank you.

As for the threat issue I figured that out. After the tank has grabbed aggro he can hold it no problem with my DnD.

As DW unholy you glyph DnD, as 2h you do not. Either way you use it as part of your single target rotation.
