Emmit may be good enough to do Holy in arena, but I need the spec with fewer buttons, and I'm big enough to admit it. :D Hopefully the patch will drop soon and Disc will be totallysuperawesome.

I hear the patch will be "soon". That should be fun. Disc is pretty darn good now, provided you've been able to get a few gear upgrades. Come on over anytime.

Yeah scratch that. I need Chastise. Can't live without it. So back to Holy. Don't you just love these threads where I have conversations with myself? Priest forums were boringboring these last few days anyway.

I do agree Dadanox that Disc will be fun post-patch.

Who needs Chastise when you have a High-Powered Bolt Gun? But seriously, play what you like and have fun!!

I actually traded out my Nitro Boosts for a permanent speed increase via Inner Will and Inner Sanctum. That let me tinker the Cardboard Assassin onto my belt. I drop it as I'm running for my life.

Engineering is indeed awesome. Where else can you get a +24 Int helm at level 35 in the form of lazer goggles? :D

With the incoming buffs to PW:S and the four-piece set bonus changing:

Quote:
he PvP priest 4-piece set bonus has been redesigned. When Power Word: Shield is cast on the priest, movement speed reduction effects are temporally suppressed for 4 seconds.

I am looking at this for PVP now.

I'm quite excited about this. The mana cost of Shield going up means it needs to be used more judiciously than ever, but with B&S, improved shield (even more improved when cast on self), and no cooldown, this becomes a HUGE survivability boost.

The glyph of PS changes don't hurt either. For anyone who didn't see that:

Quote:
Glyph of Pain Suppression has been renamed Glyph of Desperation and now allows Guardian Spirit to be cast while stunned, in addition to Pain Suppression.

That means that while stunned, I can use the Lightwell AND Guardian Spirit. It'll be pretty hard to stunlock and kill me in 3 GCD's now, I would think.

The change to the Chastise cooldown is sad, but what's really going to hurt is having it break on damage now. :(

All in all though, the patch can't drop soon enough for me.

Amazing how much room for choice there is within the priest tree. Here’s my planned build come 4.06, for comparison’s sake.

The big boost to shield should be an enormous help, particularly with the synergy between Body and Soul and our 4-piece bonus. Fair warning, though, they’ve taken out the self-only boost that they had as part of Improved PWS for a little while.

If I’m reading this right, I can use Guardian Spirit on others while stunned as well. That plus the nerfs to other forms of crowd control (sheep, fear, hex etc are max 8 seconds now) will make it harder for the enemy to keep me tied up while they kill my teammate.

But I’m really sad to be losing Glyph of Spirit of Redemption. Six extra seconds of free healing made an enormous difference in many fights.

I’ll be interested to see how much of a difference the break on damage will make. It’ll still work as an interrupt, and as a setup for Mind Control, which were two of my favorite uses. On the other hand, I will no longer be able to extend a stunlock by three seconds, which was a strong option when teaming with a rogue.

Wot wot? It's still the patch notes dated today. >:-[ I was looking forward to it. Since we're having a hard time really getting rated bg's off the ground in my guild, I've recently decided to just cap out my conquest points in arena each week with my husband, because even though I really dislike arena it's not like it's a big time commitment or anything, and I can just suck it up because it might make me better overall. Anyway, he's a prot pally. He doesn't need healing. I, on the other hand, am pretty squishy even with 2800 resilience. The whole name of the game for me appears to be running in circles around a pillar, clicking the lightwell on the way by each lap, and otherwise staying alive until he kills one of them. A self survival boost would be nice for me.

I honestly never thought of that. I'm always hearing that the difference between a good priest and a bad one in PVP is Mind Control, which somewhat explains which side of that fence I live on. :D I've never been very successful at it. Right now I don't even know where my MC button is. I'll have to practice with it.

I think they just buffed the base shield 15% or something. I can check the status on the ptr if needed.

I bought 2x2 set for the extra resi but the 4 piece bonus is certainly very powerful...

From http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/1827663465?page=1#2, “Improved Power Word: Shield change reverted.” With the base shield getting improved so much, it’s probably still worth getting.

There’s an awful lot you can do with it, and walking people off cliffs is not the least. When my arena team calls for burst, that’s my cue to Chastise the healer, then Mind Control them and frogmarch them out of LOS of the person getting burned down.

It’s also very useful in the flag running BGs for seperating a flag carrier from a healer, and it’s a great way to stay alive versus melee.
