I struggle with Hit %Follow

While currently only 336, a mix of 346 and 333 I am not seeing a lot of hit percent on the gear. I've reforged nearly every thing I can to increase it, and even by my calculation, with the combination of the rest of the 346 JP gear, the 3 reputaion epics and aquired 346 dungeon pieces, I will still be well under the 17% hit cap for raiding.

What is the best way to ensure I hit the cap? Will reforging be the key? Gems? Or am I so bad at math that I am not seeing properly the hit that my future gear will provide?

I still have a couple of greens, and one blue at the same ilvl of 318. I am running DM with no success to grab cookies wand, Venessa's armband.. and emberstone just for a 346 staff upgrade.

I have a excel database for all available gear, so I know what I am after, I am just not seeing the hit represented properly in the upgrades.

I agree and just learned as much from a disscussion with a raiding Mage. He's at just under 15%. He could hit it, but does not want to reforge and lose crit. So we should not worry about the cap with tier 11 is the census.

Its a load off my mind, because our raid leader was saying must be capped hit to raid, so hopefully I have enough to show that it's a goal, but not needed at this point.

I do know of the enchant, not applied with the 318 one I have... as soon as I get Venessa to drop the wristgaurd I'll do it. Theres another trinket from Tol Barad I can get, but didn't want to load my trinkets with just hit, as I already have Anhuur's drop. Well, still I will push forward.

I think my raid leader was on me because when I told him I'd drop resto druid for mage, as they had the heals, I had not inspected my mage thoughly enough, and we did the Conclave in TotFW. I was at 5.30 hit for it >.> We had a laugh but we were wondering why our Rohash group was struggling to bring him down in the orderly fasion.

well reforging mastery, I would rather reforge than crit. Haste can be rebalanced via the enchants from boots and gloves? But you are right in thinking if I focus on hit, and nothing else, I could hit more. Arcane is just a tree, and weak in raiding as the numbers go. I tend to stick to my guns on it, but until Blizzard does something, which is possible soon, it won't be above fire or frost. Fine for such encounters like Magmaw, where frost is desired.

Do want to reforge crit? Heck no... but I need to gain hit, and such stats do need to take a dive. I would rahter mastery take the hit than crit, if possible.

If you are asking for the math, I haven't infront of me, but you can easily do... If I were not in a class, I would add it up, but I see what you mean.

It is possible to get hit capped and it would be advised to be hit capped as it gives a Mage the most dps boost. You miss a spell that is a dps lost because you miss the spell and the casting of that spell. Reforge everything you can get and gem for it green gems have crit/hit, haste/hit, and mastery/hit gems. It isn't hard to get hit capped but hit cap is very needed as the fights become very mobile for some of them and they have strict enrage timers.

Bizarre, I've never heard of 'em either.
I don't claim loyalty to the Aggies, but fortunately our state seems happy to be demographically split in the middle north to south, so it's a good divider.
Haven't been to Carlsbad area in years, just no reason to head out that way.
