Boss macro helpFollow

#1 Dec 02 2010 at 5:55 AM Rating: Good
I tried to write up a boss macro for my boomkin, but it doesn't work properly. I'm wanting one that casts Starfall on my current target, then Lifebloom, and then ending with the treant spell so all I have to do is click the ground to summon them. Right now what I have is something along the lines of:
Quote:
/cast Starfall tar
/cast Lifebloom
/cast "treant spell" (forgot what it's called)

All it does it cast Lifebloom. Any ideas?

Why do you have the 'tar' at the end of Starfall?

And why are you casting Lifebloom?

Regardless of all that, I don't think you'll be able to do this at all. Multiple spells that invoke GCD = b0rk.

tar is for target. I've seen that work in other macros. I'm casting Lifebloom for the haste buff. :-p

As Nor said, multiple GCD-triggering spells causes the macro to break.

/casesequence Starfall, Lifebloom, Force of Nature

Hit it multiple times (once per GCD). Might work, might not.

What's with the haste buff from Lifebloom? I thought you got the haste buff from casting Insect Swarm or Moonfire?

Thanks Maz I'll try that out.

Nature's Grace you get from IS and MF, yeah. And I'm a ******. I meant Lifeblood when I posted Lifebloom. >.> I meant the 240 haste proc from Lifeblood, the spell you get from herbalism.

Yeah, a castsequence was my next suggestion.

I don't think you need the tar on the starfall cast to make it work, as that should be its standard behavior as an offensive ability, but if you wanted to be specific anyway the syntax these days is @target, so it would be /cast @target Starfall.

Starfall and Force of Nature (treants) are both instant casts on the GCD, so they can't be in the same macro without a /castsequence. The CDs are also different, so you'd probably want something like:

/castsequence Force of Nature, Starfall, Starfall

If you're forgetting to use Lifeblood, you could keybind it to Wrath, Starfire, and Starsurge. Along with your trinkets, this would be:

#showtooltip Spellname
/cast Lifeblood
/use 13
/use 14
/cast Spellname

The use 13 and use 14 are for clicky trinkets (top and bottom respectively), take them out if you're using a defensive trinket (like your PvP trink), or you can leave it alone for proc trinkets. If you do this, you lose out on having the haste proc while you're doing extra damage during an Eclipse. This is assuming one or both Eclipse mechanics is a damage buff and not a haste buff.

So are you going to use the same macro when Lifeblood or FoN comes off CD mid fight or have a separate key bind for them?

If you want to put all three skills on the same button I'd recommend using a conditional.

#showtootip
/cast [modifier:alt, @player] Lifebloom; [modifier:shift] Force of Nature; [nomodifier, @target] Starfall

Would show Starfall as the default as it is the nomod option and has the shortest CD. I always put the nomod one last as not doing so did weird things with Dom a while ago if I recall. Or not I don't remember.

Sorry, is it just me, or does "Preview Message" actually just post it for everyone else too?

Hmm, it's no script. With it blocking allah Preview Message works as just Post Message
