This is a little youtube video of the level 85 hunter stealth ability called camouflage. I always felt we should have something like this as it fits the whole idea of being a hunter. If you look at the comments, people are already yelling nerf!, "delete this!" and all that jazz..

What do you guys think? I don't really see it as game breaking, just something fun for hunters to goof around with now. In PvP, sure it'll give us a nice edge; but this game isn't balanced around PvP anyway. It won't increase our DPS in raids, so who cares?

Well tbh, Cataclysm does focus and balance a bit around rated battlegrounds, and that's exactly what this spell is for. We can now wait and lay and ambush at choke points.
I do agree with you that alot of the called out nerfs are just nonsense, there aren't many occassions I see that this can be useful in. (Except for the above and; feign death + camo = "Hey he died, and now he just released, DERP") But it's a sh*tload of fun for hunters in open world pvp, and for soloing crap stuff. 2 expressions with human excreta mentioned in one sentence would be overkill.

In the end, people are just jealous and don't permit others to have cool spells.
Because you know, everyone is an egocentric **** in wow :<.

Eh, that video is boring and doesn't really show much about camo. They need to put it to the test and take a video of it being used in action situations not just running around org. We all know you can lay and throw traps, as well as change specs.

I just don't see how it's any different than an NE hunter in shadowmeld...

Then again, I don't know much about the ability itself and what it entails other than giving the ability to go into stealth...

Smiley: nod

It actually reminds me a lot of what shadowmeld used to be back in BC; only with some additional functionality, which is nice.

I certainly don't see how the ability to lay traps while stealthed or have a stealthed pet is that big of an advantage. I can't think of much besides maybe a knockback at LM in AB, but you can get that from a shadowmelded boomkin as well. But I'd imagine there's some nuance I'm missing out on...

It's really not that great, unless you stand still your not technically in stealth so they can still see you. You aren't affected by targeted range but you can be knocked out by melee and aoe. There used to be a bug that allowed you to never be knocked out but I believe that has since been fixed. It also used to grant some extra power on your next attack but that was taken out too.

It also can't be used in combat so it's pretty much used once in arena before it can't be used again, well for horde at least. NE could use it again with shadowmeld. So it's really not all that powerful in pvp or pve, it just provides a bit of survivability for hunters, in the early going that is.

iirc w/ shadowmeld, you can't move or it breaks. I watch NEs in BGs use it to try and "set" themselves up.

I actually like the idea of Camo for hunters, I've been wanting it for a long time.
