Eep. I'm in a really weird position. I leveled this warlock to 68 in TBC, but after WoTLK came out, I pretty much abandoned my Warlock in favor of my Hunter, and then had to leave the game all together for about a year.

So here I am, sitting in the middle of Ironforge with a reset talent spec, and very little knowledge or memory of how to leveling this character. I think when I was originally leveling her, I was drain tanking with an imp, but I can't remember all the way.

I've been looking around for a good leveling spec, but most of the specs I'm finding are either out of date for 3.3, or they assume that PVE means level 80 heroic grinding.

What kind of talent spec should I be looking at for level 70-80, and is there a playstyle that works as well as drain tanking did in TBC?

This is what I have at level 67. What I basically do is just run around and throw Corruption and CoA on 4-8 mobs and just watch them fall. When a few die just dot up new ones. It's really overpowered. If you feel like the healing is not enough you can throw around Haunt too.

The glyphs you should use are Corruption and Life Tap. Life Tap also works with Dark Pact so it's free mana and spellpower. Use the felhunter as your pet and in demonology tree work towars Soul Link. After that where you put talens doesn't really matter that much.

I was in the same situation. I lvled my lock to 71 when WotLK was released, and lost my love. After lvling 4 toons to 80, 3 of them from lvl 1, Ive decided to give my lock a try again. I couldnt decide what spec to play. I tried destro for about 10 minutes and scrapped it. If I wanted to play like a mage, Id play a mage. I tried demo for an hour. I loved the felguard, but couldnt get the hang of metamorphasis. As for affliction, I love the spec, it just always seemed to lack finishing power. Since I was SL/SL for arenas in BC, I looked up updated versions of the spec. I settled on this spec. Now I just run through and area casting CoA and Corruption on everything and the felguard finishes them off. If I decide I want to loot everything, Ill grab about 10 to 12 mobs with corruption and CoA and then hellfire them to death. The life gained from siphon life on that many baddies negates the damage from hellfire. I went from 71 to 73 in no time, and my dps in instances is still pretty good. Im in mostly old lvl 70 pvp gear and Im usually 2nd on dps behind the war or pally tank with BoA gear. The only dps class thats beat me on the meter is a mage, I cant compete with their AoE. The spec is decent in pvp too. Once I hit 80 Im going to switch to a full affliction pvp spec.
