The Priest OT ThreadFollow

I actually do have a novel idea in the works, I've had it written down for a few years now, but I don't really have the drive or the time to sit down and actually write. I've got enough on my plate right now as it is with school, friends, WoW, and work. Neat idea though.

NaNo is not about skill. Skill is for revising in January. NaNo is about stream of consciousness and caffeine.

I should do this NaNoWriMo thing once I'm out of languages to learn.

Then I can build in obscure references to currant pudding with cream and chocolate sprinkles. I could probably write 50000 words about awesome food alone.

You should do a NaNo in every language!

It's a made-up contest with no prizes, so they don't enforce any rules anyway. I could send them 50,000 words of "All work and no play make Teacake a very dull girl" and their validator would still call me a winner. But that would be a ***** to revise later, wouldn't it?

You could make the whole novel just out of those two.

I took Spanish for four years, and all I remember is "Me llamo Paco" "Está nublado" and "¡Yo tengo tres gatos en mis pantalones!"

I get the most use out of the last one, strangely enough.

Mmmm... brownies.

I made brownies today too, but no Symphony bars.

I think she's German, but I could be wrong there. She's lived in many different places and I get confused easily.

Eh, I like Germans. Worked with one when I had that brief stint as Emergency Services manager on that island. The same firm also handled security, and was asked to provide security at a port. Now, the US military was on their way to dock and bring a ton of troops to one of those arctic exercises where they get their frozen behinds kicked around by us Norwegians.

Anyway, he (the German) was the one at the gate that day, and hadn't heard anything about this. So of course, here comes the entire US naval force and starts wanting out of the dock. He raises an amused eyebrow, adopts his best damn Gestapo face and goes "Papers bitte..."

After playing chinese student for a while, papers and authorization finally shows, and my boss asks him why he was so adamant in his resistance. He had quite as simple reply. "Sir... as a german, I'm sure as hell not going to be responsible for the second burning of northern Norway..."

Said with the most deadpan face ever.

I got a job.

Java software development in Belfast.

Really excited! And finally will be able to afford a PC that can run any game without hickups! That and a good ISP :D

I only looked here cos I'm considering resurrecting my priest after a year off... now I want cookies and a cuppa tea
