Somewhat off-topic, but Horse, you've got an awesome sig. Very nice Cataclysm 'disclaimer' there.

Ignore that whooshing sound, Horse. I thought your joke was funny.

Not a really big accomplishment, but I did get to level 15 tonight on my new priest, so I can start doing random dungeons so I can learn how to heal slowly and comfortably. And I have the Shield glyph!

Congratulations.

Personally, I find being a disc priest to be very fun. The LFG tool certainly gives you more options today that we used to have while leveling.

Got my Disc priest to 80 on Sunday. I could equip two T9 pieces right away from normals done. With the addition of a few crafted epics, he is doing quite alright in the random heroics already. Still only up to TOC yet, but ICC 5-mans should follow shortly. I really enjoy the disc healing so far, having LFG leveled as Disc from level 70. It seems to be performing well in heroics too. I'm currently Tardscored at 3600, which doesn't get me crap from anyone because I can keep people up quite well.

I feel maybe that I'm becoming to reliant on shield/flash/renew, and that I don't use Prayer of Mending and Prayer of Healing enough. Need to work on that, I think.

Anyway, just letting you know that my priest became my 5th level 80.

I would throw PoM more on the tank when available. A disc priest who is heavy on shielding (that's my style) won't really have PoM bouncing as much as a Holy priest. The shield heavy style keeps people from taking the damage needed to send it on it's way. On a bigger raid, where you cant shield everyone, it will bounce more. Still, throw it on the tank when you can. It's a heal that will help him after his shield is used up.

PoH is situational. You have it. You should be ready to use it. It's sort of the same as pain suppression, divine hymn, and desperate prayer. There are days you may not use them, and that just means you are uber and didn't need them. A lot of times I'll cast it as people are buffing up and not at full health, or at the end of a run, just cause I can.

Also, remember that Penance procs Divine Aegis and Grace. Both are really good for your tank.

You can never be too reliant on shield.

And yes, do use ProM more, it is delicious, especially with the 2T9 bonus. So much so that I'm equipping my T9.0 gloves over my T10.5 gloves in heroics to keep the two-set bonus.

PoH is powerful but if I cast it a lot, I find myself running out of mana fast. It's more of a Holy spell, I think. I still use it in raids (Precious and Stinky make it necessary) and occasionally in heroics out of laziness.

Also, Dadanox, thank you for inspiring me with your PowerAuras thread to set up a PowerAura that gives me all sorts of annoying warnings when I've got ProM on myself. I've made it jump quite a bit more consciously yesterday.

I downed the Lich King on 10 this past Sunday.

It was made all the sweeter by the fact that we were the first in our decently-sized guild.

Grats on that! Like nearly all last bosses in WOTLK, it's an excellent fight, lots of fun to play through.

As for me... Healing Saurfang-25 was actually a bit of a challenge again today, due to the fact that we had to do it with 4 healers. I haven't really done anything in that fight for ages, not even on heroic 10-man.

I got my priest from level 16 to level 22 in a few hours tonight. Loving the LFG function while leveling and my +20% exp bonus from heirlooms. I actually enjoy questing too. After reading that guide someone posted from Wowhead, things die ridiculously fast and I don't have to worry about pulling 2 or 3 mobs at the same time. It's so much more fun than leveling my mage was. Smiley: grin Granted this priest is just a test run to see if I want to level a priest in Cata, and I believe the answer to that is yes. Now here's hoping they don't make too many changes to priest leveling...

I am so tempted to just afk for a half hour while my semi-pug 25-man does those fights. I have only seen one mark drop but about a half dozen abacuses... abaci... whatever they are, drop. While I have only rolled one "1", the rest of my rolls add up to somewhere around "100". Only been doing 25-man with the same group for about 2 months... maybe I am just not patient enough.

And if another druid chastises me for rolling on Trauma, I am going to turn them into tinder, light them on fire, then take a bio on them until they are a mess of smoldering ashes.

Well, to play the devil's advocate, Trauma *is* a bit better for druids than for priests

Entered a very late ICC25 PuG today. I DC'd for all for Marrowgar (or rather, DC'd 4 times in that fight), most of Lootship (which was on heroic, not that I got anything out of that) and about half of Deathbringer. They did not kick me. We proceeded to one-shot Rotface, got Festergut on the third try and I officially love that fight on 25man because it allows me to get to ~8k HPS, and then spent some time teaching the pallies how to Valithria. Only did two tries as it was nearly 1 o'clock server time, but one pally doubled his HPS on the second try. Apparently, the same PuG is getting together next Saturday to do it again - considering some of the undergeared people in there, it can only get better - and if some don't attend, I might be able to sneak a few guildies in.

Anyway, two more bosses down in ICC25, so if I need to PuG it, I now have a good chance of getting into one of those raids going for 10/12+. Yay!

Didn't get any loot, though.

Incorrect. Trauma does not proc off of VE. It does off of the initial cast of Devouring Plague, but that simply won't be cast enough to make it viable over a straight-up dps weapon.

Source.

Well... dagnabbit, there goes another bright idea down the drain.

Although I only wanted it for shadow for giggles, it still upsets me when it drops and the druids are already making a commotion over it; Basically telling me that if I roll on it, then I am either stupid or greedy.

Yeah, it does suck, doesn't it?

Back when Plague Wing was first released, I was considering talking to my guild leader about letting me experiment with it the first time it dropped.

Maybe consider it payback for the days when us clothies used to give balance and resto druids crap for rolling on cloth gear. Smiley: grin

I'm so awesome.

A perfectly valid course of action in any situation.

I just brought my mage up to 80 and was doing some randoms. Dungeons my level like Utgarde Pinnacle (one of my favorites) on normal were giving around a quarter of a level per run. Heirlooms and rested were giving crazy xp, 50k xp for a dungeon quest. It was so good, I skipped questing from 79 to 80, and just leveled with a few randoms.

I just had a random thought. When Wrath came out, I tri-boxed three of my toons from 70 to 75. Now I have 5 level 80's, 1 healer, 1 tank, and 3 dps. It would be fun to queue up my own randoms and solo them. I'll have to give that some thought. It would be an excuse to get another computer.

And you have too much time on your hands, my friend. Not that I wouldn't mind having that "problem".
