Got to add, he was rubbish. The mage in that group, named "Chûcknòrrïs" or something like that, wasn't much more useful.

I killed a druid called "Chucknourish" today. Now that's worth taking a break from work for.

That is actually a bit more funny, though.

More accomplishments:

My then-25 priest duo'd RFK with a level 32 ret pally today. It was awesome. My damage was only around 20% though, and that after I nearly got the same amount of damage of another ret pally in the run before that while healing properly. I <3 my Smite Glyph.

We went into Alduar for the weekly raid daily. Since we were there, we decided to try some bosses we hadn't done previously. We got Hodir down. It was a fun fight. Today we are supposed to go in on our alts with other guild members needing the weekly. It's gonna be ugly.

Grats on Hodir! Are you bringing a healing alt, or some kind of crazy DPS machine? Sometimes I crave a non-healing character. But then I try to do DPS and suck so, so badly at it.

I'll be healing on my druid. I'm scared.

So I was pretty bored on my priest and decided to farm some Dragonfin Angelfish, to raise my skill and a chance for the Sea Turtle.

First cast, new mount...

Yeah, have had a little luck with Northrend fishing achievements. Once had Jewel in the sewers as the daily, catched the dalaran sewer rat before I got the questitem.

And you're a dirty doubleposter! Booooo!

And to make you even more jealous, I just killed Festergut25 in ICC. Although, waist and boots refused to drop :(

EDIT: Rotface down, new Trauma for me.

Not in-game, but I finally stopped procrastinating and worked on my Physics project. Building a bridge that has to hold at least 200 pounds is painful. It's even worse when you have to make it completely out of paper.

So my random heroic was Violet Hold, Since it's so boring to heal that I've ran circles doing/train emotes for most of the instance before and more shenanigans like that I decided to go spec into my PvP spec and try dpsing a bit.
We had some bad dps so I actually had to heal a bit, but this is the result from Cyanagosa:
Screenshot

Dk and the other priest were our tank and Shadowpriest respectably.

I should get Smite Glyph and maybe I'll even go for a laugh and respec to a full on Smite Spec for my offspec for a while to see if I can pass 2.5k, or even get 3k dps on bosses.
And as visible in the chatwindow, I didn't have any hit gear on me except for what I have in my PvP gear which I couldn't all use.

Even without shadow gear, less than 2k for a shadow priest is just...

I wasn't wearing my shadow gear. Smiley: tongue

The other priest was, but I think his gear was something like all mid 70's greens with one piece of T9 and a few leveling blues, all unenchanted and with little hit and such.

You forgot to mention that that shammy wasn't exactly a random, either.

Also, need to mention that Æth and me received a "The tank and healer are OP" (with slightly worse spelling) from a group member after topping the damage meters in a random instance (SM:Cath, I believe?). I'm sad because in Maraudon, the DPS actually mostly out-DPS me. Smiley: frown

Also, as soon as I have duel spec, I will probably go Disc/Smite. My money actually got less due to it being weekend, though.

I have turned 4 guildies away from healbot to Vuhdo this week! :)

It started with just one healer who was curious about how it differs from HB. They jumped in vent with me, expecting it to be a difficult long drawn out event. I went through a couple basics and sent them on their way to a battleground to test it.
"Wait... What do you mean I'm done? It only took me 10 minutes..."

I think it was the *lack* of explanation on how to set Vuhdo up that convinced the others to give it a go. :) The author should give me a tip.

I am a Disc priest now. Will try out the spec on Æth tomorrow.

Now I'll have to sort through my 3.5 sets of equipment to gear for SP and Intellect instead of pure Spirit/MP5, and vendor all the MP5 gear.

I wonder what's for dinner how disc healing plays at that level without Flash Heal. Should prove to be fun.

Meh, 95% of my heals are PW:S and Renew anyway. That shouldn't change at all.
What I'm interested in seeing is if my mana efficiency will change for the better and by much my DPS will drop (longer Holy Fire and Smite casts vs. more Spell Power and hopefully mana efficiency).

Well yes, I'm not saying you'll suddenly get a hard time or anything - I just meant that it would be rather odd to keep the tank up by solely spamming Flash Heal as the only time when I have to resort to that is the time when it's throughput isn't enough and the tank dies anyway.

Wait, what?

I think my healing over the last 5-10 levels for pulls of less than 3 groups was roughly 65% Renew, 25% PW:S, 5% FHeal and 5% other stuff (Holy Nova spam, lolPoH).

I assume PW:S will take much prevalence now and I'll hopefully be able to cast even less FHeal.

So I guess I don't know what you're trying to say, Moz. :P

Is it about the efficiency of Flash Heal? Without Divine Fury, I'm pretty sure FHeal is higher than GHeal in both HPS and HPM at this level, especially with the glyph.

I am actually keeping my Smite Glyph. I've got FHeal glyphed as well because the Renew Glyph is **** (especially when the tank's taking as little damage as Aeth is).

Actually, I am just wondering about glyphing. I don't really expect healing Aeth to get much harder pre-80 and he is complaining about never having any use for his cooldowns, so glyphs making my heals stronger seem sort of pointless, especially since I prefer learning half serious healing over EZ mode healing any day of the week.
I might just get the Holy Nova glyph for the lulz.

Also, peeps over at EJ don't really seem to agree whether it's worth it to glyph Penance or not. What do you guys think?

I can't really blame you, I'm barely making sense to myself, reading back =P

What I meant was that whenever tank healing actually gets difficult (which for 80s is on hard hitting bosses in raids) you'll get your Penance on cooldown (and PW:S and Renew are already up) and have to spam Flash Heal to keep the tank up. Without Penance, your rotation in these situations would go from "PW:S>Renew>Penance>FH>FH>FH>Penance" to "PW:S>Renew>FH>FH>FH>FH>FH>FH>FH>FH ad nauseam" which, to me, having been 80 for so long, would feel pretty weird. But you're completely right; pre-80 about 95% of your healing in groups is done through shielding and you should never even get to the situation where you-have-to-use-penance-but-can't-so-have-to-spam-flash-heal, and looking at what will change for your DPS is a lot more interesting.

That said;
Quote:

As a tank or as a healer? In the case of the latter, he has to lower his standards for when to use them. I was in that situation once when we got a priest in my guild who used Guardian Spirit on anybody who went below 20% rather than saving it for 'that time the tank got low' which never occurred. Seeing him do that made me figure that the smart move if you're never using your cooldowns (as a priest) is to simply use them earlier to make your life a lot easier.

Quote:

They changed that, though, didn't they? Iirc it's 20% healing and damage now, which is really meh. Worth it for AOE grinding or something though, I suppose.

Well, for one, before you even get Penance, I'd say it's definitely not worth it. Aside from that... it actually depends. At first the mere suggestion of getting rid of the glyph seems folly, but then you realize you will probably never do solo tank healing (and if you do you won't be able to keep the tank up in the encounters where it matters, regardless) and that the primary use for Penance is to quickly heal up raid targets who are getting hit by abilities like Bone Spike - and that damage barely occurs as much as once per half a minute. I reckon one needs to look at the alternatives. This quickly there isn't anything better I can think of, so I guess I'll be sticking with it.

Or where you purely referring to a leveling situation? In that case I'd get it purely for using Penance as a damaging spell.

Edit stole ma spellingz.
