Also, I do sort of miss raids. I just don't miss all the ******** around it, the grinding, the boring as **** heroics and having to spend way too much time raiding if I want anything other than a scrubraid where I'm just going to be annoyed by other people's retardation. (Sure there's exceptions to that but they're few and far inbetween)

It's not 100%, it's exactly as Kali said: there is no right answer to the question. You have a 1 in 4 chance of getting any answer, which means you have a 50% chance to answer with 25% and a 25% chance to answer with 50%. So all 3 of those options are wrong and the 60% one is just a filler.

If the correct answer was one of the selections (including potentially being listed twice), one way to look at the problem is if "D" is randomly selected from one of the first three answers. In that case, the right answer would have a 1/3 probability of being listed twice, so the person answering the question has a 1/2 probability of getting the answer correct if they are guessing perfectly randomly without looking at the answer. There is a 2/3 probability that the correct answer is only listed once, so the probability of guessing correctly is 1/4.

In other words, if I remember correctly, the correct answer would be 1/3 * 1/2 + 2/3 * 1/4, or 1/3.

I hate you a little bit right now for posting that. Smiley: tongue Don't feel bad tho, cause I still mostly like you. Smiley: grin

I have every VP item I need for both my priest and my mage now, so I will be doing no more troll heroics for the rest of the tier. I don't even know how to describe how happy this makes me. My druid could still use VP for a few things, but I don't care enough to actually bother with her.

Math isn't my forte, but aren't we saying the same thing? The answer to the question is "100%", since any answer would fulfill the requirement of being randomly chosen, but none of the answers available are 100%, thus the paradox?

***** it, it's one of those divide by zero things. It's either 100% or 0%, or possibly even both at the same time.

If you answer randomly, you'll always be wrong since none of the 4 answers is the right answer.

Well, I'm bored of rating Mazra down, so I guess the sage is here to stay.

Yeah, there are no correct answers. You can write down zero as the answer and then argue that since it wasn't a choice you don't affect the results. or something

So Mazra, what if the possible answers were:
A: 20%
B: 60%
C: 40%

Nope, that's 40% and you only have a 20% chance of hitting that.

That is so weird.

Closest thing I've ever come to gayness was when I got mad drunk at a music festival and some random guy I've never met ran over and kissed me on the mouth for no apparent reason.

At least that's what my sister says happened. I have no memories of that evening from the time I took off my clothes and jumped in a public lake on a dare.

Reddit is awesome, though. I like how the replies devolved into Grease.

My sewing machine is seriously pissing me off right now. Stupid thread from the bobbin keeps getting jammed and I don't know how to fix it. >.< I called my mom and she suggested switching the bobbin around to a different side. Tried that, but now she's in a non cell phone zone so I have to wait about 20 minutes for her to get home.

I'm thinking the third is my favorite. I love the parts in the fifth where they are ******* with Umbridge though.

I like the first book the most, mostly because the sense of discovery just makes me happy.
Although the 3rd, and 5th through 7th books are good as well because they focus more on the overall storyline where 2 and 4 feel like complete side steps (yeah yeah, 4 makes sense but you don't notice that until the last.. what, 30 pages?)

I read 1-6 when visiting family on the mainland, I had to pirate 7.

I know the story arc and what not but a book reference is meaningless. Telling me wtf said book was about is better.

Anyway, my fav was the last book or the 6th. I forget. They all kind of blend.

I've started listening to the audio books again at night. Started with the 6th because falling asleep to Harry in Little Whinging is just so damn annoying.

Ahum. About reddit threads: I liked this one. It is one of those threads that reminds me that in some very strange sense I lucked out with the guy I found now because honestly I cannot comprehend how he hasn't got all the girls falling for him left and right (I think he might just not be able to get the hint, lol - yay for bad social skills).

And generally reddit discussions seem to devolve into Arrested Development puns. Damn site actually has me watching that (when everyone in my actual life seems to want me to watch Dexter!)
#11076 Oct 29 2011 at 6:49 AM Rating: Good
You should watch Dexter, because it is completely awesome
