MS might be better damage and threat.

Damage-wise I'm not too sure. On thrash MS obviously wins. On bosses PG might win, but then again I never really checked what part of my damage came from Lacerate. Maul hits like a frickin truck, so I'd think MS wins.

Threat-wise, I'm pretty sure MS wins. 4% overall more threat (or even more if some skills have a threat:damage ratio better than 1:1) against crits on Lacerate bleeding damage, which is the lesser part of Lacerate threat (1:5 ratio or so), is better without a doubt.

Now while I'm sure MS is better, it does cost frickin 5 points while PG is only 1, so it's a good deal.

Edit: Self-contradictions FTW

Added in a couple tank specs, a couple kitteh specs and talked about the kitteh priority dps system.

BTW, Lemme know about lacerate critting in your tests. I honestly don't see the damage/threat weighing in over a static 4% damage increase, but it might be worth sniping a point from elsewhere for.

I took OoC as tree. I didn't notice any issues last night on mana. I never potted or Innervated once. That being said, it was Naxx 10. Even with undergeared people, it's still easy and we only did the first half.

I spec'd BeAr! But only for dual spec.

NG changes are absolutely amazing. I've seen my dps increase a little bit because of this. I also was able to switch to the Greatstaff of the Nexus and keep my hit rating and ended up switching out to my haste set. 616 some haste isnt bad amirite?

I was able to work on my ui quite extensively last night for my druid. My keybindings were reworked and macros as well. Hopefully after I do some work with pitbull and get omen back I'll be able to get my ui to its previous badassness.

I do though need to know if anyone has found gatherer, or similar addon, thats been updated and isn't broken. When I logged on for the first time my gatherer was flipping out. So i turned that off. Then it was chatter not letting me type into anything. So I downloaded Prat. Then it was out of date dbm not letting me whisper to people.

I'm loving the patch, imp motw is also a very nice addition with the 2% more attributes I'm very please.

Starfire seems to be able to proc NG back to back for little mini heros and if timed and done correctly could vastly affect your dps paired with eclipse.

Basically I'm happy.

Oh, a guildie got the turtle mount about 15 minutes into the server opening up. He was server first turtle *******.

Yeah so, Horse, I got Pitbull out of curiosity as I was tired of Xperl's clunky config.
All I have to say is, Holy sh*t. O_o

How do you configure that monster?

Edit: Not too bad after all, once I disabled all the modules I'd never use. It's prettier than Xperl, but overall similar functionalities.

I tried to combat log and failed.

Apparently if you delete a combatlog without quitting WoW you can't make a new one.

I still have no point in PG and one to spare.

Will try again.

Ok, so last night I went ahead and did my UI(pics up probably tomorrow), then I re-did all my specs. The armory apparently is showing you in bear form, with proper bear stats, so you can see my stats/spec.

28k armor makes me cry a little
31.6k HP makes me think I could regem to get a little more stam
40.52% dodge is a little higher due to the 2% stat increase from IMP GotW

My attack power, self buffed in bear form is 5018.
My crit chance, self buffed in bear form is 37.95%
My Bear bubble, self buffed in bear form shielded 1254.5 damage

So I ran Heroic VH last night. Didn't really notice too much difference in swipe, maybe it hit things behind me a couple times when they teleported, but I didn't have a problem with mobs behind me before, I don't project to in the future.

Group Comp:

Resto Shammy
Feral kitty Druid
Shadow Priest
Fury Warrior
Feral tank Druid
(all guildies except the Shadow Priest who was a good friend)

With Imp Got and shammy totems down, my Bear bubble was shielding for 1400 damage flat.

From watching the buff icon that pops up, it was up almost nonstop on groups of 2-4, slightly less on boss fights. I don't remember the number exactly, but over the course of the whole VH run, it ended up absorbing ~57k damage.

I felt markedly squishier, especially on the Cyanigosa fight. I actually dropped all the way to 12k. Granted, I didn't move out of the blizzard, but I never did before either. I ended up popping my barkskin and my dodge trinket during the fight just cause I think it caught the healer off-guard.

The healer was a guildy who has healed me probably 50-60 times at least before. He said that I wasn't hard to heal, just different. The damage felt even spikier than before and when I did get hit, I didn't have as much armor mitigation so I got hit harder.

I went from ~79% damage reduction from armor, to 65% damage reduction. /tear...

Proculus does not support Savage Defense yet, so I am looking to try and find something that I can use to track when it procs. My average crit rate during the whole instance was 35.8%, so I know it was up a lot, but not how much.

Question, does anyone know if when you pop barksin, does it show in your recount log as absorbed damage? I just want to make sure that some of the damage I saw absorbed wasn't from barkskin.

I thought the cap was 75%, no? (and you'd need super sexy gear + armor procs from healers)

Added some bear stuff to the wiki.

I think we need to come to a consensus/test a few things then start putting the new sticky up.

Well maybe not as we need more resto and lazer stuff.

WWS No PG spec in sig

Will not change spec gear till get PG and do some heroic. Hopefully HoS again. Was a spec with all points but PG.

I tried to use Lacerate a bunch to get numbers for it. Used FFF a good deal as well.

UI:

I like the UIs you guys are putting up. Unfortunately that means I will likely sacrifice a bunch of my WoW time this weekend so I can fix mine.

I am looking at grabbing something new for raid frames. I have not reloaded X-pearl since the patch and I thought I would see what everyone is using. I recently set up a heal spec so Grid and Clique are already on my list of downloads for tonight.

Thanks!

I am using Pitbull now.

Rather daunting to set up but I really like the finished product.

Using Grid exclusively for raid frames. Will start to change them around in the near future. Will likely involve further changes to Pitbull while in a raid. Likely will drop my unit frame and target to the lower half of the screen for raids.

Heck, I may really blow it up and use Grid for regular 5 mans.

UI tinkering becomes an obsession once you get started on seriously changing it from the default UI.

The biggest part of setting up Pitbull is removing everything you don't want showing.

Which is a lot of information honestly.

They have frames for focus, focus target, main assist, main assist target, main assist target target, etc. You get the idea. If you think you don't want a set just remove it, you can easily bring it back in the Pitbull -> Extra Units area anyway. This actually makes the whole process much easier.

After that is is mainly setting the location and size. The Bars, Icons, Other and Texts menus for a certain unit type are all fairly straight forward. Other has Auras which are debuffs.

I removed the raid frames as I have switched over to Grid for that. Can't remember how I got rid of the party frames in a raid setting. Think it might be because I have the raid frames off as the other day after an OS run there was just 5 of us left and the frames showed as Grid and Pit because I have the show 5 man raid as party box toggled under Party -> Other.

The buffs and debuffs set are set via auras. I have to actually work on them for me and my target. Thinking after I figure out Grid some more I may stop using Pit for party frames even and just use Grid. Then I can drop my frame and my target frame down to the lower part of the screen in an area with more natural eye focus.

But ya Pitbull seems a lot more flexible than xPerl overall. Seems crazy at first but in all honesty it is not that bad. Just start disabling stuff you don't want.

Well, Ms. Horsemouth is itching to go beach, so that is all I have time to write up now. Honestly, it is the bulk of it. Just a bunch of removing, trying and restoring stuff.

Now if only a Grid user would tell me how to set up Grid. :)

I want Grid to show me mana, health and be able to tag who healers are so I know when they are oom. I like Grid but I don't have mana showing and I hate having to ask if I can keep pulling.

Those would e the main things. When I go resto with dual spec I will have more questions.

I respec'd into what I think will be my Ulduar build. 0/60/11

Was very tempted to go with MSS but decided against it in the end.

While in the process of respeccing I was also tempted to go with 1 point in PP. But didn't want to have to gem for expertise. Hoping that with some Ulduar gear I can spec out of it freeing up points for BI. I have grown very used to the shorter interrupt CD.

I get to tank tonight. I hope I get me some lewtz.

I got no loot. No boss kills.

The group did manage to get to Ignis with me, so that is cool

The fight another story.

Overall, I LOVE ULDUAR.

I have to think and plan pulls.

Trash and boss.

We restart tomorrow. Can't wait.

Ah gawd I'm back.... /drags self off ground.

Rough week.

We've had a few different little groups kinda venture into Ulduar, but I'm saving my experience for tomorrow night when our "core" group goes in for it's first night of progression. I'll probably end up DPSing it, depending on which tanks show up.

We have another druid who is geared to tank pretty much exactly like I am, and then a DK which you saw the armory of when I was ******** about armor, hp, avoidance, etc... If they are both available, I'll DPS because my curse is to be pretty damned good at 3/4 druid specs. (First 10 man Maly I was healing, First Naxx10 Clear I was tanking and First Naxx25 clear I was DPS /patback /endselfimportantrant)

Unfortunately my first love is tanking, but thems the breaks.

Anyway, I guess I'll go back to working on the sticky.

What's the highest DPS number you've seen on the Thaddius fight in Naxx25?

I'm only asking because I know that the stacking buff boosts your dps to retarded numbers, but I watched our top Feral DPS druid finish at 7400 dps (he was at about 1.2k when we jumped across to thaddius due to his side being too fast on killing the twins). This was also with 5 people dead, so the buff wasn't stacking as high as it could. I was kinda boggled. We aren't by any means top notch raiders, but that seemed like some pretty good dps to me.

Pitbull is an absolute monster to tackle the first time you use it.

I tried it but it was a little daunting so I pushed back into XPerl for raiding again because it makes so much sense to me and I'm used it.

What I've been tempted to do though is drop xperl completely, pick up grid for raid frames since I love how tidy it looks, and use pitbull for my target frames and what not.

Now I need to get btex back since my ui is getting cleaner as the patch comes along and I'd like a background frame to work with.

All this UI talk really makes me wish it wasn't a 6 day work week.

I still need to post a UI ss.

There's a separate add-on for Grid called GridManaBars. I'd get a link for you but Curse won't load for me.

Grid defaults to showing a dark background (colored by class), with health loss making the bar lighter. I prefer to invert it. Just go to Grid options, highlight Frame, and check "Invert Bar Color" if that's what you'd like.

For a Low Mana Warning, click "Border" underneath Frame, and check "Low Mana Warning." You can set the threshold for the border color to change under Status -> Low Mana Warning.

I believe that installing the ManaBars add-on automatically toggles them on. I'm not entirely sure though, and I seem to have lost the options for it.

Honestly, I recommend installing it when you have time to go through and really personalize it. It's a lot of work, but it's probably the most customizable thing out there.

EDIT: The reason I can't find it is because apparently it's no longer working with the latest version of Grid.

This is quite a travesty.

Thanks for the mana tips with Grid. Wish that add on still worked properly.

Anyway, I broke 300 on my JC. Sitting at 320 now. Time to farm Fel Iron and make all my friends go visit the Consortium in Nagrand.

On a side note I am now just about broke again. Luckily the new dailies are easy and give good money.

I got new bracers from Razorscale, lost 1 haste rating, spell power remained the same, gained about 150 mana, 100 health, .05 more crit (huge gain I know) and 5 more mp5 ooc.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND I GOT MY AUTHENTICATOR TODAY AT WORK WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I can't wait to get home and set this bad boy up.

But with my luck I'm probably getting hacked as I type this.
