What are you cooking?

Because getting tipsy is fun until you burn yourself trying to cook...

Quiche Lorraine. Heat oven, put quiche in oven, drink beer while waiting for it to finish... win.

Get the GF and make some mini-Theos, it'll solve the boredom problem.

Not as much as networking and being good at the needed jobs skills will though.

This is 2 pages late, but I don't care because you guys have posted a ton in a short amount of time...

But it's WAY harder to get jobs without degrees now, even if you have great connections. There's so much competition for the job market that more and more companies are putting in education standards for positions.

It's stupid, but it's a way for them to cut down the number of applicants.

Is this universal? Of course not. But the VAST majority of people aren't going to have connections good enough to get them a job that will provide sufficient experience or promotion potential to make it worth skipping school. I'd say about 40% of my graduating class didn't go to school (even part time). None of them have jobs of any kind of substance.

Some DO have promotion potential, but the kind that's still going to leave you hating your life forever. Like the potential to get promoted from being a sales person at best buy to being a manager kind of thing. Maybe you'll get lucky and manage to get into geek squad and get enough experience to move into another Tech support position at a different company. But even that's becoming way less likely now.

A big part of the problem is that "apprenticeships" barely exist anymore. People don't want to invest the time, money and effort into training an employee when they have such a huge pool of applicants coming out of trade schools, who are already trained in the newest systems. Especially when these employees are often exceedingly useful in training older employees in how to use them.

You guys have a massive skilled trades deficit right now. In the middle of your recession and the worst unemployment, you still had a skilled trades deficit.

Wait, this isn't the Asylum, what the @#%^. Keep your serious topics out of the BDT!! Smiley: mad

I see them as internships; people expect you to have a degree and work for them for little or no money.

Go go high bar! Smiley: nod

Man, my Warrior is getting raped in heroics at the moment. I don't think I'm taking more damage than on my Paladin and Druid, but I feel like I'm about to die all the time. Crazy stuff.

Family dramas, my own dramas and stress. Not really stuff for forum talk but it's going to result in some sleepless nights.

So I started up a shadow guide for the priest forums. I figured it might be nice to have one since the healy priests have one. Even if it is a bit out dated. =x

Does anyone mind if I blow a fuse real fast?

MOTHER@#%^ING FLAMING MULTI-RETARDS WHO DON'T KNOW ENGLISH, WHO HAVEN'T DONE THE REGULAR DUNGEON, WHO HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO PLAY, NEED TO GET THE @#%^ OUT OF MY DUNGEON!

There, I said it. Two @#%^ing hours in Grim Batol Heroic because these @#%^wits can't figure out how to switch targets and stand in the middle of a giant vortex that covers the entire @#%^ing screen except for a blank spot in the center of it!

GAH! Smiley: mad

Sorry for the language, but I'm frustrated beyond belief. And the goddamn 3k DPS Rogue had the nerve to tell me that I didn't know the fight. I've run that dungeon 25+ times on every single goddamn level 85 character I have! Shut the @#%^ up, cakeface!

Oh, oh, and the silent Retardin from Tarren Mill rolled on the blue mace despite wielding an epic sword. Hoo-@#%^ing-ray, I was afraid I'd have to do something about my prejudice towards players from Tarren Mill, but apparently that server really is full of flaming @#%^wits.

Again, sorry for the language. I feel like I could rip the face off a puppy. One of the cute ones.

And now I realized I have to go grind all the quests in Deepholm just to unlock the Therazane quartermaster.

No you don't. Once you reach friendly with her you can fly up to the throne (before you get the quest inviting you up there) and buy it from the vendor. So... you only have to do about 60% of the quests instead of all of them. =x

Yeah Brisin, I wasn't counting you since you barely post once a week. No offense. <3
